I love these tips. Another one I could add is having a backlog of art to post during those weeks you aren't feeling creative or just need some time off and you can still satisfy the algorithm.

Annabelle, thank you so much for such great tips. I'm now beginning my art journey (at 67 years old) after so many years of life getting in the way and these great tips are so valuable for so many up and coming artists (such as myself--lol). Again, thank you!♥

I think it’s worth noting that pngs don’t post well on Instagram; they will get chunky. As for canvas size, please remember that dpi is dots/pixels per inch folks. The pixel size of the canvas will be the same in every dpi, but dpi helps to translate resolution for print. So for an 8x10in print, you want the canvas to be at least 2400x3000 pixels (300 pixels per inch). A 2400x3000p canvas is that size at 72, 100, 300 dpi. If you have a 400x500p canvas at 500dpi, it will still be a small canvas. I’ve seen this be misunderstood by a lot of people so I wanted to point this out.

What's a good canvas size for ibis Paint on a phone? When I use large canvas sizes, it makes my pen super slow and it's kind of impossible to draw that way... :"3

Great video! I'm still unsure however whether some sort of tag/signature/watermark should be always part of the artwork itself like when you will be uploading them to Print on Demand sites like Threadless and Spoonflower? I do see some digital art on Instagram that looks like the artist has placed a digital signature in front of the work. Can anyone help clarify about this?
@ninja_tony5 ай бұрын
You definitely should NOT be putting a watermark on the artwork you upload to actually apply to apparel. Putting it in the mockup/thumbnail art is ok, but again like she said, only so long as it doesn’t detract from the artwork itself.

Do you change your dpi before posting to Instagram ? It says that Instagram prefers a dpi of 72 - I also draw my art with 400 dpi …. should I reduce it afterwards for Instagram ? 💙I’d be so thankful for your help

the first step does not work well and might make you post a single piece per year if you're a perfectionist. Please know the time to stop doing touch-ups and actually post. If you're perfectionist, sometimes posting sketches and WIPS every now and then might help with having more posts per week (so your social media is more active) and with more posts come more engagement. Be creative with the ways to incorporate your sketches into the general look/aesthetic of your account, like editing the photo, changing the color of the sketch lines to more interesting ones, etc

Nope. It’s not healthy to “hate” your work. There’s a big difference between hating your creations and accepting that they could be better. There’s nothing wrong with the latter, but any artist that HATES their work shouldn’t be an artist, they should find something else that makes them happier.

@sianais3 ай бұрын
@namona21 Watermarks can be easily removed unless they are the type that ruins the image. Don't give out high resolution for free.
