FAQ:
» Where are you from?
I’m from Yorkshire, in the North of England. I went to University in Canterbury (in the south of England), and have since lived in France, Spain and the USA.
» Do you teach English via Skype?
Yes, see the top of the description for links to book classes with me. I also own Online Language Academy, an online English school with native English teachers, that teaches English conversation to students from all around the world. Book a trial class here: goo.gl/NnPkCP
» How many languages do you speak?
My mother tongue is English. I have a Batchelor’s degree in French and lived for 1 year in France, so I speak fluent French. I have lived in Spain for over 8 years and speak fluent Spanish, and I also learnt Italian to intermediate level while at university (but have forgotten most of it). I also tried learning Portuguese, Greek and Swahili very briefly.
» Can you recommend a TV series to help me improve my English?
My recommendation is to find something you love watching in your native language, and then watch it in English. This way, you already know the characters, you know the story, and can focus on the language. My personal favourite American TV programmes are FRIENDS (goo.gl/G7s1yP) and The Office (US) (goo.gl/znsJsZ). My favourite British TV series is Gavin and Stacy (goo.gl/5QcFCJ).

Hi Greg. I understand everything in English. I've never in my entire life ever experienced connected speech. I've just discovered it. By accident! Listening for it will frankly be impossible for me. I'm shocked that English has this syntax. Do you have any ideas to overcome this handicap? This is the best kept non-secret. No one I know from England has ever addressed this issue. What a torture I'm putting them through.

How do you know which part of the word you should highlight? As in SOfa or soFA? ps your videos are super helpful!

When you learn a word, don't worry (soooo much) about learning the spelling. Sure, it's important, but it's equally (or more) important to learn the correct sounds to use, and where to stress the word. Nobody should ever learn the word "sofa" without learning at the same time that the FIRST syllable must be stressed.
