Do These Cobra Radios Have a Place in 2025?

I laid my dear Cobra 148GTL to rest after having it since 1985. It was in every vehicle I have ever owned. Before that, it was my base station in a homemade power supply I made out of a destroyed battery charger. In 2022, it was beyond repair. I had made many repairs over the decades, even mkred modifications. I did them all myself. But, the ravages of time took its toll. I buried the old Corba 148GTL beside my fallen animal companions of years gone by. I miss that radio as much as my dear fallen animal companions. There are far better today. There are far more functional today, as well. But, my father gave me that old Cobra decades ago when I was a young lad. The ancient 259 centimetre antenna is still mounted on my old Jeep that I have had since 1996. The rectangular hole I cut in the dashboard is there. The emptiness in my heart is also, still there.

I had a guy at my church that was big into CB. He has one converted to 10 meters. When he passed away the family gave them to me All have SSB I have not played with them yet
