This is great - thanks so much for addressing this. I actually love the fact that your recovery shot and approach shots weren't perfect and you STILL managed to make par because your strategy was so good (aiming for the bigger gap in the trees, aiming left of the pin). It's a good reminder to think strategically on the course for every shot.

Great advice! Took me years and years to stop going for it every time and blowing up my round. I would have ten to 12 pars, maybe a birdie or two but have 3 holes with a double or triple. Sometimes a snowman! Drove me insane. Now my goal is just like you said. Punch it out and make bogey. Now I'm shooting in the 70's. It is easer said than done!!!!

Hard to put the ego aside but if scoring lower is the goal it’s absolutely necessary!

even Pros make some dumb mistakes off tee and with second shots and the result is Double and triple Bogeys. OH NO you say but it's true, you just don't see them doing it on the Sunday TV coverage.

Yes, and also pretending my tee shot is my provisional also helps, since the provisional is always better than the first one...

I wish he plays 2 balls showing the difference by taking the riskier second opening. Their final scores may or may not differ.
@ryanmouquegolfАй бұрын
@@mahendrawardhana3189 might not differ on attempt number 1 but over 10, 20, 50 times it might… And this is so subjective to the skill of the golfer. The better player would almost score better trying to hit the gap, this being because if they got it up to the green, they’d get up and down more than from 100 out I can’t sit there doing 20 attempts on a YT video. You watched it, now go out and experiment yourself over time

Agreed. Way too long of a set-up for what most golfers already know they should do.
