From a 3rd generation fitter with 12 years under my belt I’ll say I can tell you take pride in your work BUT PLEASE tell me you went through and put plugs in all the ball valves. Trust me when I tell you a box of plugs is well worth not having to go out and reset a dry valve cause some idiot hits a handle they shouldn’t be touching.

Ill put plugs after i finish testing and tripping the system . This is a new building with six parkade levels . I put street 90's on the ends so i dont dirty the walls when i drain the system , i do know what you mean though .....

galvy for dry pipe, black for wet, but to each their own.@@Throplife

We dont use galvanized pipe unless its specified by client . It is more expensive .

Also remember guys, his code requirements in Canada may be different than ours. We follow NFPA..what’s that first letter? NATIONAL and Canada is a different nation than the US lol.

I st time i did that haha Was looking at the drain 90 and thought i would just add a ball valve call it a low point, then the idea ,i had some extra end caps and scrap pieces of pipe . Why not make it a real 'DRUM' drip!

In the US that heel elbow drain setup WILL pass inspection as long as it’s just meant to serve as an auxiliary/low point drain. How do I know? Because I’ve been a field super in NYC for years performing my company’s inspections and we have the strictest code requirements in the country

Everybody follows NFPA . The code is the same for everybody . If you look at the contributors writing and reworking the code you will find that there is also Canadian participation .
