Hey, it's been a while, and I'm really happy to see you with an H. parryi haha, always wanted one myself but the timing was always off. One fun thing about pinching is that my giraffa used to do these very gentle pinches to my finger, as if to check me out rather than to defend himself, a very fond memory of mine. I doubt any of the Hexarthrius species would do that though, my mandibularis sure didn't

Haha, those gentle pinches are the best, my metallifer stags did the same exact thing and will never forget that. Although, I probably won't ever get that from my H. parryi, I'm still honored that he didn't pinch me when he easily could've.

I got bite by a Hercules beetle and he would never let go and i got blood on my hand and it's very hurt!

Well from the last vid there was my comment abt dorcus almost passing but today was the day of the pass... 10 months he lived he was my best friend from 23rd of December (I think) to 2nd of November.. Would you want to fly high mini guy? (dorcus name) I mean you used to fly alot when you were a young adult but bow you must fly higher when you were younger. Goodbye mini guy 😔

I’ve only been pinched once by a small species (dorcus parallelipipedus) because i was been stupid trying to peel a bit of cobweb off. Im not going to lie was actually decently painful but he let go right after

Generally yes but it ultimately depends on the beetle. Some are really docile and won’t pinch, others will act aggressive and the bite isn’t much, and a couple will make you cry
