I'm still in my first week of having books available on Amazon and I must say that finding keywords is the hardest part of the whole process. I did, however, hit it right with only my second book. It showed up on the second page of a search. I think, for a newbie, this is pretty good for a second time out. Now to push it to the first page.

The title keyword that also features on the cover (like colouring book for kids ages 3-4) would work for low content, but what do we do for no content books? I'm just dipping my toes in the water as to get used to making covers and such, so I wanted to start basic with dot gird notebooks etc.

Awesome stuff, no flluff, just the info. I agree with you about the ads. I do not plan to run many ads. Definitely not on my low content books, I will just optimize as well as I can. I may try some ads on my first in the series picture book, I will see. It's great to watch somebody from the UK too. New sub, I'm going to watch some other videos of yours as I'm about to publish my first book, more coming very soon as they just need formating. I wonder how you do with street team and launches? I feel like being more hands off and concentrating on producing more good books with well chosen keywords rather than spending time with street teams/fan groups, fan pages, posting on social media acoounts and all those things that authors with one book would usually do. Do you do hard launches, do you stack promos and chase reviewers? I must say I do not fancy that, but I'm not sure if the book can still take off without all that extra time, effort and money spent. Do you let your book to be organically found first so amazon learns how to recommend the book to other amazon customers? Recently I was surprised to hear that new advice, which goes against the grain. Most advice I hear is hard lauches, chasing reviewers, ads etc etc Do you do any of that stuff? Thanks in advance.

Depends on the type of books. With these type of low content books I just hit publish and move onto the next. If you’re publishing fiction and to some extent non fiction you’re going to need to build an audience via social media etc.

Yes, I think it's fine to publish without one. Especially if you are just starting out in this business.

I saw a book yesterday with a BSR of 416 and it had no description what so ever! I was amazed how it came up number 1 in the results too.

Descriptions don't have any effect on ranking on Amazon. They help with sales but if the book is good enough and looks attractive it will still makes sales.

Hi Paul I am new here! I recently purchased publisher rocket and I notice that the number of searches for a key word there will usually indicate >1200 even though when I use the free AMZ expander, the search results will be less than 1000 for the same key word. Do you have an explanation to this. Also, I notice that you mostly use the AMZ expander for key word, even though in another video you highly recommended publisher rocket (I bought it following your recommendation actually!). If you had to choose, which would it be, between publisher rocket and AMZ expander pro (not considering the cost)

Yes, I do have an explanation - Publisher Rocket is giving you an estimate of the number of searches per month on Amazon. The figures on AMZ suggestion expander are the number of searches on Google per month. I use AMZ expander pro for downloading a list of keywords and Publisher Rocket for analysing keywords. If I could only pick one it would be Publisher Rocket.

Paul ... Will updating the keyword in A+ Content have the same impact as the 7 Keywords used? Meaning .. can I just goto my A+ Content and ADD more there? or should I remove the old stuff that was originally used which is now considered unacceptable ... hmm
