I spent years being abused by a narcissist and now I encounter them often in my work. Just yesterday I had one try to bully me over the phone. She threatened me once and I heard it (I see you, narcissist), she threatened me twice and I told her that she didn't need to do that (I know my truth and my truth is that I will not be your new supply). She then tried a different tactic to trigger me. All of this in just an 8 minute phone call, so I declined to work with her any further. Thanks Rebecca! I'm getting better at this all the time.

Listen like a lawyer, remain as emotionally detached as a therapist, and win the game by not playing it. Put what they find irresistible in their environment, and subtly let them know you put it there, letting them know that you can manipulate them, but they are no match for a narc-wounding bad-ass who is willing to burn down his own house to kill the rats. For work narcs I have relied upon short, cutting statements and total focus on the job, treating them as a minor detail that I dipense with quickly. They want to provoke, and by trying, they provide opportunity for me to provoke them, and IT IS SO EASY. If you are a people pleaser that believes that your coworkers are in fact, your friends, you will be hurt when the narc ends that charade. Outwork everyone else. Be punctual. Don't take any shit, but reply to it like a robot drill Sargent. This has worked well for me.

That's correct.. before I watch this video, my techniques are crucial to add today, that when the narc is in your physical proximity, NOT to pay them any kind of attention, whatsoever.. They lose it - and when they choose to throw these odd temper tantrums in an effort to discover the attention that is non-existent/not going their way.. LEAVE. No matter how/what they do things to get by, around you, do NOT pay them an ounce of attention, legitimately. This entails re-focusing on a cellular device, grooving to music, looking out the window.. I mean anything, simply do not allow for them to steal your efforts. Never. And once it begins to arise to toxicity, they become aggressive, terrifying etc Leave. Do NOT put up with that kind of attitude/behavior! That is their decision, and when they make the choice to begin raging or screaming, as best as you can attempt, 'escape' the situation as hastily as you shall desire to. This is my technique/method, it does continue to resemble the 'Greyrock' method, and whichever that is chosen to follow, they do function equally. The attention that is spared their way can and will endlessly fuel a blackhole.. they'll never receive enough attention/or admiration, again, whatever the circumstances are, my lovelies, the mission and goal for today, for the week even, is to stay humble, don't begin to drown in the horror. (Being humble does NOT ever mean letting yourself be silent when it's painful! Speak up when the events or situations become toxic and terrifying, again, whatever applies to the circumstances, friends.

This is so similar to a technique I have found has worked for me as well annnndd you can turn it up or down. Depending upon the narc or how you want the situation to go but wanna talk about narc injury and trigger then it's a good way and they are put on full display I love how you said leave as hastily as you wish and that was so profound it truly just depends on you and the situation and the narc but you have the control ...thanks for sharing because you conveyed this Perfectly sis

I view narcissists the same way I view aggressive drivers on the road -- most of my energy is put toward keeping myself safe, under control, and non-reactive. It is easier when you see the problem arriving ahead of time instead of being surprised and shocked by something unexpected. Narcissists are more or less that driver who refuses to merge properly. Laugh at it an more on.

I read the Four Agreements book many years ago and it is easy to forget sometimes when you deal with the narcissist that people never do anything because of you. People do things to others because of their internal issues not because of your problems. That being said the abusive narcissist in my life tried suggesting the book to me, trying to made me understand my own life…how ironic is that ?

Thank you! When he had a temper tantrum I just said very calmly I can’t believe you just said that! Then after discard I sent him a copy of all the love bombing statements 🤣 I stated you never gave me a chance to respond.. I said that he needs to seek help regarding anger outbursts! I said no one deserves to be treated with disrespect And I said give me a call sometime to emphasize that I was not disturbed 😦 in the least! I said the reason I was hesitant is a feeling I had and now it was for good reason! I stated only the facts! Guess I am a real experienced non reactor!!! Thanks for making me feel better that I did the right thing!

I SEE!!! Thank you so much Rebecca. I really appreciate your videos but I must say I definitely needed to hear this one. I needed this wise wisdom you’ve shared to help me cope. Thank you so much, I appreciate you. I can’t say that enough. Such a valuable tool of professionalism you are indeed. Learning to be triggered NO MORE I am is a lesson I’m wanting and needing to learning. I’ll be practicing this valuable lesson for sure. Thank you for the wise wisdom you are teaching those who are in need, such as myself, to learning better and healthier coping skills. Indeed I SEE and thank you again!

The narcissist I was with used to actually write things down… not just what I would say, but also at his work place. If he thought they had slighted him in the least bit, he would have it written down, every detail. He knew the law like the back of his hand. Threatened to sue me if I broke up with him. 😞 I’m still not sure if he can actually do that or not.

I wrote a letter within 48 hrs of closing requesting a change in wording. It was delivered to my lawyer and the mediator. My lawyer said under no circumstances a change was possible. I don’t think that is true. Is he brushing me off to get rid of me. A very wealthy client gave my lawyer to me as a gift. I think the lawyer was threatened by my husband and/or took a bribe.

I see you! This is what I write to those who unashamedly commit the #indigenous #genocide and brag about it...I call them out on it and use that phrase "We see you!" When it is this whole half of the world there is zero excuse to pretend not to see it! You channel is informative!

What about the narcissist that realize that they can't trigger you. Because he would get so upset because I never would not feed into the mess he wanted me to feed into. Then he really would get crazy. But I had to stay in control and let him know you do not have control over your own mind, and you think you are going to take over my life. There is a way to handle a narcissist, just leave them alone, let them go and never return again to them. You have to let the narcissist know that you are a lot smarter than they give you credit for. Because the narcissist wants that control, and if you dont give it to them, that's when they figure out that they cant control you. Because they realize that they are the weak one, and that's why they want to control, because they feel that ,this is where their power is. So they want to control. They are some of the weakest people you ever can meet. Because they dont live in reality. They are so far from reality. Their world is so unreal, they are fake, phoney, and gas lighters. All they do is lie, and get caught in them.

Shes so right. Starting with my parents. Then wordt of all my first wife. If young people are not taught , but their models are their parents, you are probably already in a hole. Then a life time of re learning.

Wow! Rebecca Zung nailed it with this one. It's difficult to find the right words to thank her because she's such a great teacher and influencer. Let me begin by expressing my gratitude. The subject is critical, and the presentation is outstanding. This has to be one of her most impressive videos. Just when you thought she couldn't get any better, she drops this video, which elevates her content quality and speaking style to new heights.

Information like this is truly helpful, unlike the videos that just trash the narcissist. Sometimes the results are so good it can snap the person back into a normal position and you can make progress.

What your meditation teacher told you is basically the same thing I tell people. If someone says something about you that bothers your or hurts your feelings, if it's not true, don't let it bother you. If it is true and it needs to be changed them change it.
