I spent years being abused by a narcissist and now I encounter them often in my work. Just yesterday I had one try to bully me over the phone. She threatened me once and I heard it (I see you, narcissist), she threatened me twice and I told her that she didn't need to do that (I know my truth and my truth is that I will not be your new supply). She then tried a different tactic to trigger me. All of this in just an 8 minute phone call, so I declined to work with her any further. Thanks Rebecca! I'm getting better at this all the time.

Listen like a lawyer, remain as emotionally detached as a therapist, and win the game by not playing it. Put what they find irresistible in their environment, and subtly let them know you put it there, letting them know that you can manipulate them, but they are no match for a narc-wounding bad-ass who is willing to burn down his own house to kill the rats. For work narcs I have relied upon short, cutting statements and total focus on the job, treating them as a minor detail that I dipense with quickly. They want to provoke, and by trying, they provide opportunity for me to provoke them, and IT IS SO EASY. If you are a people pleaser that believes that your coworkers are in fact, your friends, you will be hurt when the narc ends that charade. Outwork everyone else. Be punctual. Don't take any shit, but reply to it like a robot drill Sargent. This has worked well for me.

@troy76213 жыл бұрын
That's correct.. before I watch this video, my techniques are crucial to add today, that when the narc is in your physical proximity, NOT to pay them any kind of attention, whatsoever.. They lose it - and when they choose to throw these odd temper tantrums in an effort to discover the attention that is non-existent/not going their way.. LEAVE. No matter how/what they do things to get by, around you, do NOT pay them an ounce of attention, legitimately. This entails re-focusing on a cellular device, grooving to music, looking out the window.. I mean anything, simply do not allow for them to steal your efforts. Never. And once it begins to arise to toxicity, they become aggressive, terrifying etc Leave. Do NOT put up with that kind of attitude/behavior! That is their decision, and when they make the choice to begin raging or screaming, as best as you can attempt, 'escape' the situation as hastily as you shall desire to. This is my technique/method, it does continue to resemble the 'Greyrock' method, and whichever that is chosen to follow, they do function equally. The attention that is spared their way can and will endlessly fuel a blackhole.. they'll never receive enough attention/or admiration, again, whatever the circumstances are, my lovelies, the mission and goal for today, for the week even, is to stay humble, don't begin to drown in the horror. (Being humble does NOT ever mean letting yourself be silent when it's painful! Speak up when the events or situations become toxic and terrifying, again, whatever applies to the circumstances, friends.

This is so similar to a technique I have found has worked for me as well annnndd you can turn it up or down. Depending upon the narc or how you want the situation to go but wanna talk about narc injury and trigger then it's a good way and they are put on full display I love how you said leave as hastily as you wish and that was so profound it truly just depends on you and the situation and the narc but you have the control ...thanks for sharing because you conveyed this Perfectly sis

What about the narcissist that realize that they can't trigger you. Because he would get so upset because I never would not feed into the mess he wanted me to feed into. Then he really would get crazy. But I had to stay in control and let him know you do not have control over your own mind, and you think you are going to take over my life. There is a way to handle a narcissist, just leave them alone, let them go and never return again to them. You have to let the narcissist know that you are a lot smarter than they give you credit for. Because the narcissist wants that control, and if you dont give it to them, that's when they figure out that they cant control you. Because they realize that they are the weak one, and that's why they want to control, because they feel that ,this is where their power is. So they want to control. They are some of the weakest people you ever can meet. Because they dont live in reality. They are so far from reality. Their world is so unreal, they are fake, phoney, and gas lighters. All they do is lie, and get caught in them.

I feel like I’m getting better at this every day. Some days more than others but I have a mantra- “it’s not worth it, it’s not about me it’s about him”

Wow! Rebecca Zung nailed it with this one. It's difficult to find the right words to thank her because she's such a great teacher and influencer. Let me begin by expressing my gratitude. The subject is critical, and the presentation is outstanding. This has to be one of her most impressive videos. Just when you thought she couldn't get any better, she drops this video, which elevates her content quality and speaking style to new heights.

i LOVE THE OBSERVE RATHER THAN ABSORB NATURE OF THIS VIDEO. LIKE WATCHING A TENNIS MATCH IS PERFECT. I DO TRY TO AVOID NARCS NIT PICKING ME FOR A REACTION BUT IT HAS BECOME AN EPIDEMIC.

Information like this is truly helpful, unlike the videos that just trash the narcissist. Sometimes the results are so good it can snap the person back into a normal position and you can make progress.

What your meditation teacher told you is basically the same thing I tell people. If someone says something about you that bothers your or hurts your feelings, if it's not true, don't let it bother you. If it is true and it needs to be changed them change it.
