I have the Loomis book and have watched literally dozens of KZbin videos on drawing using the Loomis method, but this video is one of only two I've seen that caused something to "click" for me. Thank you SO MUCH for this clear, easy-to-understand presentation. I struggle with spatial awareness and perspective, so seeing everything spelled out so clearly is incredibly helpful.

I love how you've continued to excel no matter what kind of environment you're in.. you went from a small area in the attic to a big desk. regardless of the space your in you've been able to do the work. I think this is helpful to people who don't have extravagant spaces. you can still work with what you have no matter how small or cramped and still make progress. There is no real need for fancy tools or spaces to learn to draw. use what you got available to you and the rest will come with time. Dan has proved this to be true.

Hi, Dan. Thanks so much for this video! I want to teach myself the Loomis method and it's very helpful to see you drawing through the sphere with the ellipses (which I think the book is a little vague on). But I still struggle to understand how you go about constructing those ellipses in the correct position in the sphere (e.g. How do you make the ellipses perpendicular to each other? Do you basically draw ellipses whose major axes are prependicular to each other?). Could you consider doing a video on how to construct a sphere and the ellipse cross contours in the video? Thanks!

Hello, would you have any advice to give to have a less hesitant and more assured pencil line to be able to draw perfectly in perspective and in particular circles and ovals like the ones you draw?

I’m confuse on the third how do you establish that, do you use a ruler and look at the 1 inch 2 inch and 3 inch mark?
