I make a mental note to myself, “when taking off socks or changing clothes into sleepwear, that’s what the hamper is for, and if the hamper is too full, then it’s time to seriously consider doing laundry!” It makes a huge difference when it comes to clutter on the floor. It’s such a great feeling to have a clean room.
@coriel2597Ай бұрын
I have trained myself not to be messy. It’s harder to clean up a messy room than a tidy one. So. Keep that in mind every day. If I set something down I ask myself a question. Is that where it goes? No? Then don’t put it down there. ❤😂❤😂 it’s life changing experience. Clean but not tiding goes so much faster.

I thought being an empty nester, household chores would be easier. Yet, I find that since I'm retired and no longer have a kid under foot I'm a lot less organized. I made a list of things to get done each day instead of designating one day a month to do a deep, top to bottom cleaning day and it goes so much smoother.

I have been the designated laundry 🧺 person since I was 14 years old! We are talking decades! Here is my advice. Take the clothes out of the dryer and fold them immediately!!! I put them in the laundry IKEA bag and am able to drag the bag if my back is hurting upstairs to the bedroom. The heat of the dryer with immediate folding will eliminate any need to iron our clothes! With the foldered clothes ready to be put away as is, cuts down on the time required to put the clothes in their proper place. I know that it seems like quite a bit of work at the time but really it doesn’t. Once you develop the habit of folding the clothes after they are removed from the dryer, you will never go back.

What does doing all this on a regular basis look like for you? Like, do you have a 30-min window after work where you "do this day's weekly thing"? As a professional cleaner, does it feel like "Ugh, gotta add on another 30 minutes of work", or is it a "Yippee! This job looks a lot easier than earlier! 😄" ?

Re clothes: I have a short cat tree near my dresser. (The cat is back with his other “parent”, as he wasn’t happy here.) I put my “not dirty but worn” clothes on the top shelf. My nightwear on the second shelf. When I do laundry, I take down the appropriate number of shirt and pants hangers when the dryer is done. I hang those clothes, then into the closet they go. As for small items, like socks and undies, I bring my laundry downstairs in a pillowcase, which also gets washed and dried. Now the clean clothes go into a clean pillowcase, which goes back upstairs, contents dumped on the bed, items folded and put away. One of my pet peeves is putting freshly washed laundry in the same basket you brought the dirty laundry downstairs in. How many people clean their laundry baskets? Btw, I throw the laundry detergent cap into the wash, so no drippy cap going back on the bottle.

So I got a question so you know how people usually make their bed and put like 6 million pillows on it for no reason how many pillows are too many pillows and what if you're single and alone how many pillows do you use cuz I usually use one
@LamboGallardo5602 ай бұрын
I'm also single but I have two pillows per bed. Can't stand decorative pillows either, total waste of my hard earned money plus what a pain in the butt to deal with. Who wants to move them out of the way when you're exhausted? And where do you put them aside from the floor, where they've now become clutter? So then you have to throw them back on the bed every morning, on the sheets you've made such a big deal of keeping clean? It makes no sense at all, it's nothing but consumerism.

No matter how much I dust and vacuum my bedroom, it still has a dusty air quality to it. Like when I walk into the room, you can feel the air quality change as soon as you step in. Opening windows on a windy day doesn't help. It's 100 sq ft and I have my desktop PC in there as well which throws around a lot of dust. But no matter how much I clean the PC as well, my room is still bad. I have a dyson air purifier and if I stand right in front of it, the air is so fresh and easy to breathe, but the general air quality never changes.
