I love this video. I also want to encourage y'all to be more comfortable at work with your hair. It can be cute and still in protective styles. It's nothing that they can tell me about my hair. If you want to see hair look a certain way get yours done that way. My hair will lay how it feels or how I feel like doing it. 🥰

Thissss! I’ve heard it all from work colleagues, “crazy, wild hair” someone even compared me to Don King. 🤨 It took me a while but I found as I began to share more on here I became so much more confident in my hair, no one could tell me anything this is a crown!!! Now I do this for a living and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for commenting sweet one ❤️

SUCH A VALUABLE COMMENT!! My first thought was about how I could style twists for work without putting too much tension on my edges from pulling them back into a ponytail. They aren't very long and I find they unravel easily if twisted on blown out hair. I will try again. Thanks for this encouragement ❤
@christy75162 жыл бұрын
Hey! Another tip I'm finding is to only do a twistout for special ocassions cause it actually tangles the hair the longer you keep it in if you have fine strands . Also ensuring wash and gos are redone frequently like 3/4 days before hair tangles too much! Another is twisting up my hair and creating a bun when I do sleek styles instead of letting my hair shrink up at the back cause that prevents excessive tangles !
@AshleeLoveit2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for being really details on your process. I colored my hair blonde, just want it to grow, I have not blow dry my hair in ever. I will try to wash my hair more often like every 7-10 days instead of 2 weeks. Keep it more moisture in it, plus blow drying it will be the new step I will do! Thank you!!
@gatesfamily34702 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips in blown-out, stretched hair. 👍🏽 Honestly, it makes perfectly good sense so I'll try this method to prevent tangles by allowing my hair to shrink up and air dry.

Wait a minute... does this mean that my hair needs to be waist length before my twist outs can reach bra strap length? I couldn't understand why my twist outs would end barely past my shoulder when my hair is actually a little past bra strap length. 😅

Hi Janet! You always look amazing! I wanna ask can you use blue magic as a moisturizer on wet hair after leave in and then blow it out then braid or is it better to use oil. I'm a natural and I've been using blue magic on wet hair, avocado oil on my ends and pumpkin seed oil on my scalp, but I've never blown out my hair. Does a blow out help you get to your hair length goal faster. I've been at bra-strap to mid back for a while. Any tips girl!??
@vee31332 жыл бұрын
you can use blue magic as a Sealant after the leave in. Stretched/blown out hair helps with length retention because it keeps the hair from tangling up on itself.
@janetidavies2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your support! ❤️ I 2nd that I believe blue magic is a sealant not a moisturiser. I would reccomend using a leave in conditioner before blow out then an oil AFTER to seal. Blow outs work just as good as braid outs it’s just based on your personal preference and I tend to alternate between blow out, braid out and low slicked pony. The aim is to keep your hair stretched and free from tangles meaning you retain length better and see growth faster! I hope this helps? ❤️❤️

I had so much length retention as a child when my mom was running blow dry treatments and stretched hair styles (my mom protected it with thread but I was too scared to be made fun of for being African). I have been trying to have a back to basics journey now that I'm working again and I think blow dry treatments once a month are the next step. Due to my lopo, they really help in moisturizing and nourishing my hair which I'm starting to believe is my most underrated facilitator in length retention.

First of all, you are beautiful with amazing hair. I have hair that is bra strap length and I have recently starting dong my hair in twists this year, however I added a blow out to the last twists. I’m wondering if you have noticed any heat damage? I have not as I have used a heat protector serum but wondering if frequent blow outs even with serum can cause any heat damage. Also sorry if you already answered, about how many twists do you have here? Thanks doll 😊
@janetidavies2 жыл бұрын
Hey my lovely, thanks for commenting! No heat damage, I’ve noticed all my life I never get heat damage from blow outs only straightening. I always use a heat protectant too! And use mid heat and only a partial shot of high heat with the RevAir. I typically blow out every 2ish months and no issues. As for the number of twists girllll I lost count 🤣🤣 maybe 20 🫣

Hi do you workout with your hair in this state? If not any recommendations on how to do this while working out getting a sweaty head, I think it would defeat blow drying if your hair is just going to get wet from working out I’m thinking it would start to revert back to coily.

Hello, may I ask a question please? I think you are in the UK? I heard you couldn't buy a Revair blow dryer in the UK? Apparently even if you get if sent here from the States, it won't work in a UK adaptor because of voltage problems.. Is this true? I'd appreciate your feedback......or anyone's feedback please! I'm on this long confusing natural hair growth road plus I have seborrhoeic dermatitis - which means thst my scalp cannot tolerate oils, so everything is more difficult! Thank you .😊

So you just twist your hair without using product after blow drying your hair? or lightly spritz water and apply oil?
@TULIP.16892 жыл бұрын
The leave in conditioner/heat protectants have oils in it PLUS if you wash and condition every 7-10 days your hair will stay very hydrated between washes. You don’t need to spritz any water on it. You really only need oil right before you wash it to comb out most of the shed hairs.

Heyy will have to look into this, no oils?? Don’t know how I would survive personally. Oils are such a necessity especially for afro hair (in my humble opinion) as the natural sebum our scalp produces struggles to get to the very ends of our hair due to the texture. Nevertheless I will have a look 👀
