I love your channel. Your posts. Your content. The length of your videos. The fact that you turn to organic solutions, which we in the Rast have been resorting to since centuries and plants indigenous to OUR areas (not surprisingly) respond better to treatments indigenous to the same area, geographically as well. So , so glad someone understands that, is expanding upon it, is teaching us and taking us all along on that journey as well. God bless ❤ Please make a post on how to make our phals spike in time for the festive season. It’s still quite warm in our semi tropical, coastal cities. Much love.

Hello dear, what is your advice? I have rotten roots from overwatering and the soil does not dry out quickly. I used to water every day. If you could please advise me on how to get rid of the rotten roots so that the plant can absorb the elements and water, I am one of those who use natural fertilization. Thank you, dear. I await your response.

Wow just stumbled on your videos, new to orchids. Inherited multiple from an elderly neighbour going into care, the family were tossing them in the bin! They have been neglected for many years and suffed many an insect infestation etc over that time. I have done my best and repotted and cleaned up. Have been spraying with a eco product to safeguard, but would much prefer and organic alternative. Looking forward to the watching the results :) Going to have to binge you channel 😆

Ive thought orchids were dead before (oncidium or zygo) i sadly set them under the table and stopped watering. Then after about 3 months they shoot out a new growth sometimes. Its pretty amazing.

Ah , and here I thought they might be phalaenopsis lol , I love Dendrobiums , if I am not mistaken Queensland has ideal climate for most Dendrobiums . 👌
@Lisa-JaneSpears3 ай бұрын
@@thenaturecompany PS also have phalaenopsis I think the neighbour had been collecting them annually when in flower. Here we go on our journey. I do believe Queensland is pretty good for most - however cymbidiums are hard to get to flower, I am trialing tropical version, will need to wait a year or two for results or death 😞 thank you for all your inspiration and advice. Just watching your clivia short, wishing mine were all mature to put on their show :)

sorry your message slipped though the cracks lol , The warm flowering Cymbidiums can be so rewarding and a lot of work has been done to get bigger and better flowers , I find them particularly easy to grow . One of our videos is on Chen's Ruby and I love it so much so rewarding , it should flower just as well there . In my area we have to protect our clivia from the amarylis worm , the little buggers make a feast of them and leave very little left .

Can ginger essential oil be used instead of freah ginger?
@thenaturecompany Жыл бұрын
I would rather use fresh ginger or powder ginger
@Lisa-JaneSpears3 ай бұрын
Ok gave my adopted orchids a ginger spray. How often should I be doing this? and can you successfully store any ginger water or does it ferment? As these orchids have been neglected for many years and several have been affected by scale (which I have cleaned off to the best of my ability after spraying with neem and white oil). I would like to treat the orchids in a pro-active way and get them to their fighting best so they can battle most of the invasions themselves just not sure on the best method. I usually do a fortnightly eco spray on my plants during spring/summer using a combo of eco fungiside, white oil and liquid charlie carp (fertaliser) but at about half strength. I have been advised white oil and orchids are not a good mix! Sorry so many questions I just want to be able to save them so I can let our 93yr old neghbour know they have lived and are healthy - Orchids were a large part of her and her dec husbands life. Thank you for any advice 🙏
@thenaturecompany3 ай бұрын
only a pleasure to help 🫂white oil can be used but not all the time , use it when you can't control them any other way . neem will work and I have just done this video on scale too 😉kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5Kyi3R4h8moptksi=e-W3ST78dekijmpi . Your feeding sounds about right , just try and be sure to give the correct light and air movement the specific orchids may require for them to be at their best .

@@thenaturecompany Thank you! Do mean like Lowes/Home Depot? Are they treated with insecticides, could that hurt the orchids?
@thenaturecompany3 ай бұрын
generally they should be fine but you will need to soak them for 24 hours and rinse them as often they will be very dry and that will absorb water from your plants . Soaking will also remove unwanted stuff from the bark
