Yes the magnesium helps in hardening off the orchid by increasing the chlorophyl and activating certain enzymes .

I used to be able to get guano based granulated fertiliser from Hawaii - gosh, amazing growth - the canes on my dendrobes were awesome - i put it into japanese tea bags and just placed them on top of each pot - the orkids get fed constantly. Sadly i cant find this fert anymore

oh wow that sounds like an amazing way of doing it . Yes I believe guano has become a controlled substance , something to do with excess removal changing the ecosystems where it was being taken and sustainability practices . I am not sure how true it was but they also used the possibility of diseases being spread by it not being handled properly . These are probably why it is not so easy to get hold of in different forms now .

I never used the weakly weekly...I water my orchids 2 rounds in a session and the feed them with regular strength fertiliser mixed with organic food. They grew monster sized! I will be posting about it soon when they flower

Can i give epsom salt and calcium nitrate together in one go? Is there any problem in absorption?

you have to balance out the Cal and Mag if you have too much Cal you will make the magnesium not available to the plant and if you provide too much magnesium you will get a Cal deficiency in the plant . Generally you are looking to get a ratio of 2Cal to 1Mag . I hope this helps 👍

I didn't know what Epsom Salt was, so I googled it. Turned out its Bittersalz in German which I had in my pharmacy cabinet against constipation (when you can't 💩for a longer period) and its very efficient (you better stay close to the bathroom). So... even with the looowest dosage I can't overcome myself to use it for orchids 😂No way! Many regards ❣

funny enough this can work too as it has been proven that orchids can absorb urea directly and have an enzyme that allows them to use it as a source of Nitrogen . Just try not to do it after a heavy night of drinking 🤣🤣🤣
