When I was young, I had a total of 40 warts on both of my hands (I get chills just by typing this) which I contracted by sharing fries with an infected friend. My parents took me to a dermatologist who gave me more than 10 different anaesthesia injections and burned them off with nitrogen. I still have some scars but just thinking about them gives me goosebumps.

My younger brother had a wart 'colony' on his hand. He tried everything from duck tape to freezing to antibiotics. What sorted it for him was garlic. Taking a garlic clove and using tape to attach it to the affected area. After well over a year of trouble this treatment took a couple of weeks, but no problems since!

Had a mother wart on the bottom of my heel as a teenager. It almost covered my heel, was circular and looked like a collection of warts piled up and around each other.I remember when it started coming away and I picked it out. Had a nice crater in my heel after which healed up and returned to normal but I never forget how satisfying it was to peel that beast off and feeling air on my heel where the wart was. Good times.

I had a wart on my hand for at least a year or maybe two and finally my mom took me to the dermatologist. She applied some sort of beetle juice that created a very large and painful blister underneath the wart that forced it to detach from the rest of the skin eventually. Weird and unpleasant but it worked after two treatments.

Had a wart on my hand 6 months ago. Went to my doctor, which sent me to a skin specialist. They cut, froze, and then told me to buy Verucid from the local drugstore. None of it seemed to help, despite lots of patience, and after 3 months I had kinda given up. I then went on the internet and found some old "house wife tricks" on how to remove em (And among them: The ducktape). I did go with simple salted water however. 2-3 times per day, for about 10 mins each time, and within 2 weeks, my wart was complete gone. Those "tricks" actually worked a lot better than the actual drugs on the market. Or at least, they did for me. But people say the results differ a lot from person to person, so maybe I just got lucky ^^ Just wanted to share the story. It's not just imagination, that it works :)

To anyone dealing with warts that resist treatment, hopefully this helps someone else in the same scenario I was in - At one time I had 30+ warts on my left foot, 1 giant one on my left knee, and 12 or so on my left hand and no standard treatment worked (doc office or OTC). While the ones on my hand and some on my foot were roughly a year old, others like on my knee had been there 3+ years with zero improvement after many kinds of treatment. Finally, I decided to light matches, blow them out, and hold them to the wart. My theory was that doing so initiates a healing response that allows the body to recognize the virus and attack it (similar to freezing). The first round where I burned every single wart took long enough that I decided to treat my hand first and if it worked, then move on to my knee and foot. After about 5 weekly match sessions to the warts on my hand, they actually shrank and disappeared. Then, when I looked at my knee and foot I found they had COMPLETELY cleared without me realizing it. Mind you, over 30 warts on the bottom of one foot meant that it was absolutely _covered_ 5 weeks earlier and yet it looked like a foot that had never seen a wart. I'm not sure if the 1st match treatment is all that was necessary or if the next 4 weeks of work on my hand continued to stimulate my body's response, but I was so grateful to have found something that worked for me. Good luck!

I did a similar thing on a verruca I had on my foot. I had tried those freezing kits from the chemist, but it didn't seem to help. So I took one of those giant paperclips, straightened it out and heated one end over a flame until it glowed red. I then held it against the warty tissue until the heat got too much to bear. After leaving this for a few minutes I cleaned the area with TCP to make sure it was sanitised. After 3 or 4 attempts the verruca cleared. I think it's a combination of killing the bits of skin with the virus, making the area less hospitable and forcing the immune system to get to work on the damaged area.

I've had a couple of hand warts before. I used a clean razor blade and cut around the wart making sure to get all of it inside the razor cut. Then I wiggled it a little. Then I waited a day and wiggled it some more. I noticed it getting a bit dried out and tough. Then the next day I'd wiggle it and pull it out leaving a bit of a hole witch heals fully over a couple of weeks leaving no trace there was even a wart there in the first place.

I had very good results with Apple Cider Vinegar as a wart remover. I applied it daily (maybe twice daily, not sure) for a month or so. It irritated the skin more gradually than salicylic acid, but did a better job removing the wart. It was great for a particularly stubborn wart on the side of my nail on my finger. Freezing, lasers, salicylic acid, and even some prescription cream did not work. Apple Cider Vinegar was what finally worked.

For everyone worrying about cancer: the strains that cause cancer are generally not the same that cause visible warts. Also, infection with all kinds of low-risk strains is ubiquitous, and it is estimated almost half of all people are carriers of some kind of low-risk strain (or multiple). Your immume system generally takes care of everything! That being said, don't touch people with warts, if you can avoid it! Higher concentration of virus = more chances of infection. So even if your immue system is perfectly capable of handling the viral load of just touching regular HPV-infected surfaces around you, it might not be strog enough to deal with direct contact with a wart.

So, explain how it’s possible to have warts but test negative for HPV. Because I have warts but don’t have HPV and was actually vaccinated for HPV when I was younger. I also tested negative for genital and oral Herpes. But I have warts on my back. I’ve been to a few different dermatologist and they’re confirming it’s warts and not some kind of other growth. I’ve heard there are some other diseases that can cause warts though. But I don’t have any STDs or STIs. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
@DiscoChixify
@DiscoChixify 2 жыл бұрын
My only guess is that some warts are caused by HPV and since some are caused by other STDs and STIs there could be another infectious disease out there that’s not as well studied or widely spread. I was concerned at first that these warts might be something else because they’re not round. They’re like pillowy but with irregular boarders. They don’t have a head or any kind of discoloration, no speckling or anything. They’re 100% skin colored. Most of them show up by themselves without any other warts anywhere near them, but I have one or two that have a second wart next to them. It’s just really strange. I’ve had them for a few years now and they never change. They don’t look anything like the warts in the video.

@@DiscoChixify Not all warts are HPV, they just say things that mess with people, because in reality the understanding of what warts are is actually very limited and instead of explaining how and why that is, they just say things conclusively without explaining further details of why they are saying that... HPV is what caused the elephant man who developed "cancer" and "tumors" from it...,, when that doesn't even make sense, because HPV is not "cancer". HPV causes warts, one guy had it so bad, they called it "cancer". When it's not cancer... Sometimes people confuse diseases and just incorrectly use terms by being inspecific with them... It's not really cancer... People have a hard enough time with telling the difference between cold, which is a "virus" and flu which is a bacterial "infection"... 😆 🤣 😂 You don't get tested... Corona proved how stupid and afraid people are about diseases when in reality your always surrounded by them and the odds of you never being infected is less than the odds of infection. It really creates confusion in people about different diseases when they throw terms around without adhereing to a strict definition... The outcome is merely similar to developing tumors all over your body, but cancer is really just when part your own body starts having mutated cells replicate out of control with out something else happening and the causes are only either your bodies way of keeping track and disposing random mutated cells stops working on it's own or you were exposed to radiation or a chemical that poisoned your body into allowing mutated cells to get out of control. Warts are viruses, many different viruses, you can look up the different types of warts. The problem is that viruses are very small and excedingly difficult to study so it's basically next to impossible to tell the exact difference between them other then by calling them by how they develop on the skin. Planters warts, HPV, ect... The only diseases you really need to worry about unless you are immune compromised are STD's...

I used to pick at a wart, on my palm, sometimes removing (seemingly) all of it, but, of course, it grew back. Then, one day in high school, I was especially bored and was digging away, with my pocket knife, and dug extra deep, this time, and eventually pulled the WHOLE thing out. The weirdest part of all, is that it had a ROOT! It had what looked exactly like a root that was about 4-5 times longer than the wart was wide. It never grew back, after that.

I dropped a speck of super glue over mine. Waited half a day, peeled the dry layer off and applied another new layer. Repeat for about a week and the wart literally imploded it self and died. I think the dried glue blocked off its oxygen intake. And the act of peeling the layer also slowy removing the incapacitated virus.

I used to have a few on my hands when I was a kid, not massive or particularly noticeable and I didn't know what they were for a long time, when I found out though my family got them Frozen off with an over the counter kit, then treated what was left when they peeled off with some creams/ lotions for a bit. that, combined with making sure to scrape away as much dead skin from the site afterward as I could on a regular basis lead to them disappearing completely, not a trace of them. It's been over a decade so far and I haven't gotten any since so I either got a resistance to them or I haven't gotten into a situation where it could infect me. The point is they aren't a big deal and they actually aren't that painful to remove via freezing, you don't feel much but a slight burning sensation from the cold, like touching ice, and even that is dulled since the wart itself doesn't really feel anything and it's over after a few seconds. Slap a bandaid on and in a day or two it will fall right off. After that just treat and clean the site for maybe a week or two and problem solved. They are weird but not a big problem and there's no reason to be afraid of getting them removed. Hope this helps someone.

What finally worked was soaking the affecfed areas in warm water for 15 minutes, then covering completely with duct tape. I left the duct tape on for 7 days and if the tape showed any signs of falling off, I would add more tape on top instead of replacing the old tape. That did the trick painlessly and without any scarring.

I had recurring warts as a kid. I had several on my hands and some on my feet. I laughed when the video mentioned duct tape; that's exactly how I coped with my warts! I had them for years, and after all that time spent trying the medical solutions, I just wrapped myself up in duct tape. Took a few weeks, but they finally went away! Interesting about the black dots; I always thought they were seeds. >_>

I had a wart on my pinky, directly in the middle of it (The side with your palm) so i thoght it was a pimple and tired to pop it. Then stupidity took place and I stuck a sewing needle through it, and started picking at it. Disgustingly enough, i killed the center, but not the outside, so it kinda began to "blossom" out and grow bigger, so one sunday i legit picked at it so much that i ripped of a massive chunk of skin and boom, there's a slight scar but all gone.

I had a wart once.. a seed wart, and it took almost a year with treatment to go away. first we did the acid band aids then we tried freezing it and once this was done the wart was dead but it was still there. it took months of me picking at it before one day I got down to the seed and I had to pull it out with tweezer. that was the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life..

I had a big one on my middle knuckle for many years. The doctors would freeze it but it always came back. Finally a doctor in the USAF put Cantharidin, or beetle juice as he called it, on and wrapped my hand like a mummy. It hurt, quite a bit, but after 2 or 3 treatments of that it was finally gone and has never returned.

our doctor prescribed tape for my daughter's warts on her feet. She thought it was the coolest thing ever and walked around for a couple of weeks with duct tape on her feet. The warts went away and did not come back. Our doctor said tape irritates the skin and that can cause your body to step up its defenses and shed the wart. It doesn't work with everyone, but it worked for us.

About the duct tape thing.. When I was young I got a wart on the bottom if my foot, I was so young my doctor didn’t want to freeze it off as that is really painful so she recommended using duct tape. I would put on a fresh piece 2 times a day, once when I woke up and I would replace it before I went to bed. After about a week I had taken off the duct tape when I woke up to put on a fresh piece. Sure enough the whole wart was stuck to the tape and it came off painlessly. The way it came off so cleanly will always seem like magicly. I will forever preach the cheap effectiveness of duct tape for wart removal.

Heck, Ive cut the darn thing off with nail clippers and it grew back! Ive had it for a few years now. It doesnt seem to be anything serious but it bugs the crap out of me. Ive had warts before and Ive always gotten rid of them. Could you tell me another way to get rid of it without going through surgery? I dont have the money to pay for it. Is this a specific type of wart or is this one just being mean?

Mega Potato this might help, so first off don't reuse anything you use to cut off the wart because it can reinfect the skin. Go to the doctors and have them freeze it off with liquid nitrogen. While you are in the process of treating the wart take tagamet (a heartburn medicine) one pill a day (it will boost your immune system and help fight off the wart virus more effectively.) It worked for me and also helped me from getting sick for the past 6 months. Ps I am not a doctor and feel free to do your own research and ask a doctor. Best wishes to you and hope this helps.

Salicylic acid alone could not get rid of my wart. I was extremely frustrated after a year of treating the wart with multiple home remedies so I googled it. A combination of duct tape being left on for a number of days and salicylic acid being applied when changing the tape is the only thing that I got it to go away. The duct tape, for whatever reason, got the healing process started. I've recommended it to my friends who have had warts show up ever since!

As a child I had a lot of warts (over 30!) on both of my hands, first the doctors cut them off, but they grew back. An old lady suggested that I apply the saliva of a common weed Vérrehulló fecskefű (Chelidonium majus). The plant itself is very common in Europe, and it had a distinctive orange saliva. I applied it 2-4 times a day on every wart, and they disappeared in a few days! Easy solution, no pain, just a little work; and if you want to plant it in your garden - don't! It is a very versatile weed, and you won't be bale to weed it out after a while, it will spread like fire.

I once had 36, all on the undersides of my fingers. I only had 3 or 4 at first, but then we tried to freeze them off and they spread. I tried acid, and that didn't work. I had surgery done to physically cut them off, but they still grew back. The freezing was by far the worst part. They had grown in cluster near my joints, to the point that I couldn't bend some of my fingers at a 90 degree angle. They had cores buried inside my dermal skin (from which they grew). According to my doctor, the cores had to come out, but surgery would have been to invasive, so we had to freeze them with liquid nitrogen and create blood blisters underneath the clusters. This was extremely painful, and I had to have it done in 5 to 6 places at a a time on a single hand. The blisters would force the layers of my skin to "come up" as it healed, and carry the cores with them. We tried to numb my fingers before hand, but topical ointments weren't strong enough to numb my entire finger. I once had the doctor inject lidocaine into one of my fingers, but the needle injection was even worse than the liquid nitrogen. The worst party was waiting for the blisters to become large enough that i could cut into the sides of the now dead skin to drain them, before cutting the rest away. The skin that remained underneath had a smaller "wart" bump that was gradually smaller each time. My fingers were largely unusable while this was happening, so we would alternate hands every two weeks. It took two years of on and off treatments during my last two years of high school before they finally started to recede.

You in the US? I had planters warts on my toes that only spread to everything it touched after trying to freeze them. They dug so deep into my skin, I'd have believed them to be attached to my bones! I ended up spreading it to my little brother tho, so parents brought him to the doctor (not me, go figure.) And the doc gave him a kind of cream for it. No idea what, but I started using it too! After about a week or two, the wart just.. fell off. It was probably a 1/4 inch in diameter and deep. Pretty gross. Your experience sounds like what I was expecting before the doc prescribed that cream! A total nightmare!!!

Basically those treatments trigger immune system response and help your body identify problem area. Eventually if you're healthy (eg non smoker for instance) your body can keep virus under control. Often bad infections may require a few treatments (they recur) before your body is finally able to effectively identify and suppress virus
