It makes me a little sad that all of the characters look so.. normal? blended together? cause it really takes away from that unique sense of difference all the characters had, how diverse their styles were but they all pretty much got along, but i'm still curious how this is gonna go; I have my hopes up still

I think it’s because the original cast was fully based off stereotypes so they made the appearance drastic to represent each stereotype. Here it actually looks like a reality tv show with just what we think are normal people in the game. It’s their personalities that we’ll see that’ll help make it more unique I guess

TD might have benefited from bringing back a handful of OG characters. Though I do think the original show suffered from not cycling in more new characters. As the show just could not figure out what to do with most of the cast they kept bringing back.

I always thought that Total Drama was gonna be up there with Wayside and Kid vs. Kat. Doesn't get noticed as much as like Ed, Edd n Eddy. But now... it became the most popular Canadian cartoon. The last very popular one was definitely Arthur until like 2009.

Also the creator did say back then he wanted the show to span over ten seasons before ending it, we prob would've gotten more seasons by now if TDAS and TDPWI didn't receive so much criticism and hate, tho that was probably for the best as we really didn't need four more seasons that were just as bad as Total Drama All stars lmao

I'm hoping this new season will be a success and the writers are able to fix issues the show had from the earlier seasons. I will say, I wish they had 22 competitors like the 1st season had to make it more nostalgia, but that's my opinion. I'm looking forward to this new season.

I’m still hoping Fresh TV would bring back the past generation characters with redemption arcs after network executives ruined them for unnecessary reasons. Gwent deserves another chance to be canon again and the other flanderized characters need their personalities restored. The networks might have requested a new generation of characters but there are still fans who want the old cast back for specific reasons.

Out of the new characters introduced, my favorites have got to be Axel, Chase, and Scary Girl. I’m hoping they’ll get very far in the show, especially Scary Girl. From what I’ve see so far, she’s giving off some massive Izzy vibes, which is a good sign that she’ll be entertaining to watch.

My theory is that the Total Drama Universe is filled with different dimensions, where each Total Drama winner is split into different timelines. The reboot could be in a universe where we pick up in the current 2022 timeline where the events that the audience has been following up to Ridonculous Race took place or the reboot could take place in a universe where Total Drama only lasted one season and it's a niche show that only a few people remember. Either way, the reboot looks promising

I kinda wish Total Drama had originally been a couple of seasons of Island with new casts every season, before they began with all of the Action, World Tour, Revenge, and All Star. It would have just made more sense and not written the show into a corner where the new casts couldn't live up to the original. Anyway, I am perfectly fine with them bringing back the format, as long as they don't make it out that this is the first time around.

Some of the old cast members are from PBS kids Cyberchase, DISCOVERY KIDS- TIME WARP TRIO and Skyland from nicktoons and growing up creepie and yin yang yo. So cool. I wonder who are the new voice actors/actresses will be.

I think what makes these season/cast a revival rather than just new is that fact it will be the only new cast to get more than 1 season and actually be used similarly to the OG characters. I would love if Gen Alpha got to grow up wjth these characters like how we grew up with the OGs. RotI really deserved to get another season before the train wreck that was All Stars so I hope they dont make the same mistake with what could be a cast of new iconic faces to the franchise

I feel they branded it as a reboot because Camp Wawanakwa is back, despite it being destroyed/sunken. That’s the first clue, and the original cast? I’m pretty sure you nailed it there. They’re back but not as contestants but real-world cameos who never participated in TD at all. Kinda like how Total Dramarama is set in its own universe where all the familiar characters never competed in a show like it- but they made hilarious callbacks to the “idea” of it.
