Ha ha...I was a young girl in the late 60s. Frosted white lipstick from Yardley was the thing! Palest pinks, but frosted. Yardleys packaging was gorgeous and the product smelled heavenly! Blue eyeshadow- colored mascara...all, all of these scream 60s. That winged black eyeliner? Yes, from the 60s. Look at Barbra Striesand/Funny Girl Nothing is new, I've seen hair, makeup, hair, clothes all come around & around again.

Rimmel used to make some fantastic frosty lipstick and nail polishes. Circa 1980's. My favourite nail polish ever was their Ruby Red. A deep ruby frosted polish. No glitter just frosted. Topped off with a Mavala top coat and it looked like 2 pack paint...the depth was glorious 😌

Yes! I remember in high school a black eyeliner and a frosty balm was all you needed for a full face. You could fill your brows with a light touch, line your eyes, smudge some on your finger and touch up your cheeks and of course, the lip liner. It really was all you needed!

I remember i was SO excited when i was able to buy my first mac lipstick i had a liner already and my AP teacher who went full glam everyday (and also drove a vintage neon green Cadillac to school) asked me why i was so happy that particular day, so i explained and she literally gave me the stank eye and said oh so you care about brand names like that? 🤣I was so crushed cause she was my idol, it wasnt the name it rather the whole mac experience and overall the exploration with high quality products. Oh man, the frosty silver lips, that takes me back 😂 If anyone wants to try something similar Wet n Wild has some frosty lipsticks right now, their “silk finish” formula. They have a shade called “a short affair” which is a very pale frosty pink and would probably give a similar look to this. There are frosty shades/formulas out there, some brands do still make them, but if you’re just wanting to try them out Wet n Wild are only 2-3$ 🤷🏻‍♀️

Frosted lipstick was a STAPLE of the 1980s in Delicious Pinks, *Golds,* Purples and Peaches; the 90s had a Few frosted Purples and Silvery colors. 😊

Ooooo, I love it! I miss that Era so much. I had a version of Bubbles but it was Este Lauder and the tube packaging was gold metal and scalloped like a flower or a cloud. I loved it! I took it for granted. I was probably 13 years old and I took that lipstick for granted!

When blended out, that looks so much like L’Oréal’s original Mica lipstick (I couldn’t afford MAC in the 90’s)! I wore the hell out of that shade - any frosty purple or brown was so in. L’Oréal still carries that shade but it’s reformulated and more subtle.

Frosted pink was my Mom's signature color. She was in her late twenties when I came along in 1968. So I think she started wearing that frosted pink in lipstick and nail polish during the sixties when frosty was very popular and she just kept to it for years on. Oh and she wore only two rings, one was a a ladies oval onyx on a gold band, and the other was a five caret pink stone that was emerald cut on a gold band as well. That was it, and she was beautiful (especially in my eyes). Love you Mocci 💖

Revlon was the queen of frosts. I still get and use the nail polishes for summer. Over bare or a nude they look like seashells. And I know they still have some frost lipsticks out there too

I loved the frosted lipsticks. In y2k my mom gave me one that was a purple frost. It was gorgeous! It went on light just like that one with a slight purple tint. I was obsessed with it and I got so many compliments and girls wanting to know where I got it. I used all through middle school and high school. I like it by itself and over the top of other lipstick colors.

My favorite discontinued Mac eyeshadow from the late 90’s/early 2000’s was a smoky black green shade named Fiction. Used to absolutely cover my eyelids in it for a night out. Has kind of a mechanic’s greese color to it and was so good to go clubbing in!!

There was a metallic liquid lipstick trend a few years ago, does no one remember that? Lime Crime had a light colored one I used. It was opaque but you could just pop it on the center so it was like a lip highlight that didn’t budge.

The best "frosty" lipstick lately, that I stocked up on since they recently got discontinued, are the glitter liquid lipstick glosses from NYX. Oh well. I'm still searching for a beloved frosted pale purple lipstick that was my signature in highschool. I don't remember what brand it was, but it was SOO good! Might be L'Oreal Mica, or a discontinued WetnWild lipstick.🤔
