Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). @@mst4705 the choice that popped near the end says you can slaughter the remaining seals to get a huge boost in food, or sacrifice the elders to reduce food requirements. I chose neither because we had food under control.

Answering your question. When I was younger, every game was set to max difficulty immediately, and I'd just accept punishment as I Got Gud. I'm Fitty now, and nowadays, I choose what I feel may be most enjoyable. The more action oriented the game is, the more likely I am to choose normal or even story if it's supposed to be really difficult. For turn based tactics, prolly veteran. I don't play RTS games anymore...got Starcraft nightmares, but if I were to play an RTS, normal would be my choice at first. I find that I tend to enjoy games the most that have no difficulty settings. They seem to be balanced around all people having fun and being challenging to win/clear for everyone without being unfair. Best example I can think of is Monster Hunter.

Depends on the type of game I'm playing, something like this I would go with normal as I want to know what I have to do first, sequel or not... but for RPGs with third or first person, I would start of with hard as I want to have a challange or I'm used to that type of game. Otherwise, if it is too hard, I would go to normal.

I like to go 2nd hardest difficulty. If you start too easily you can pick up bad habits. Plus it usually makes the game last longer if it's more challenging.

I love your videos, I love Frostpunk 2 and I want to see more. Let me backseat for a second. Technically, you are doing the district neighbour bonus wrong. 13:00 With the housing district for instance, the entire district gets the generator bonus, if only 3 tiles of the housing district touch the generator... Meaning, you should not just look at having the districs adjacent, you should also focus on having them EXACTLY 3 tiles adjacent, so more districs can get the bonus by touching more districs. I hope I explained it in an understandable way, english is not my first language xD okay bye :D

Also, for every new game I always choose the difficulty above "normal". If the devs put a bunch of work into games mechanics, then I want to play on a difficulty that fully utilizes them. Usually that isn't the case for lower difficulties.

I think you misunderstood how the heat adjacency works. If you fill the 3 bars of adjacency bonus, the bonus applies then to the entire district. So it's not required to have all 6 housing tiles adjacent to heat bonus tiles. At least that's how I understood it while playing the game.

I usually play either on an easy or normal difficulty. I'm in for fun and plot, not combat and challenges. The easier, the better, because sometimes the easiest mode is also too difficult for me.. When I have enough experience in the game or if it feels too easy, I can dive into a higher difficulty, but I am never, ever into a challenge. Leave that to those who like to suffer. I'm not one of those people when it comes to one of my favourite activity ever, which is video games. UPD: Unless! There's an achievement I want to go for that requires a certain difficulty. Which is rare, I usually get to know the game first and then try earning the achievements/perfect the game.
