The internet really is wild, in what reality, I didn't even think I was going to see 700 grand in my whole lifetime when I was younger and I feel like I have enough most of the time. No wonder everyone is depressed.

Pride is the biggest things killing dating, people cant just admit they want a partner, cant admit weakness, cant admit vanity, why cant people just say what they mean, why is lying or saying the acceptable answer the norm
@txxxx0
@txxxx0 10 ай бұрын
I dwelled on this for awhile cause I got tired of how dating is like nowadays and checked out very quick. Imo hookup culture has basically just become dating now, which is contradictory on its own, but for some reason people don't think they can hookup while also being honest about their intentions or feel obligated to be part of it even though it's not what they want. Then add the circlejerk of relationship/dating content on social media which makes people feel the need to be 100% all the time, no one's gonna wanna be honest about nothing and it exhausts me. That's basically been my experience.

Just want to throw some thoughts into the conversation. It could also be the people interviewing women and making these compilations are cherry-picking the interviews and just showing the ones that would be more interesting for better views. At least if I had to pick between women being delusional being the norm, or a couple people specifically singling out those delusional interviews out of a bunch of normal answers I’m more likely to pick the latter. Also in regard to the 80% vs 100% thing really depends on what are the items making up the list. I’m also someone who wouldn’t go for 80%, but my 100% being: good communication, empathy, rationale, personalities have to click, trust, and a desire to improve yourself. I’ve met a girl or guy here and there that does have a crazy list that I don’t think is reasonable. A lot of the people I met around me I feel like are honestly pretty reasonable. Just my two cents.
@txxxx0
@txxxx0 10 ай бұрын
Yep, I can't help but feel a lot of times these interviews are scripted. But I do see a trend of unrealistic expectations on both men and women on IG and whatnot (not as extreme as these interviews but still weird or wild), and I think it's just an echo chamber of social media. Reminds you that nothing on there is real life
@sdbzfan1
@sdbzfan1 10 ай бұрын
The interviews are definitely cherry picked but the 80 100 thing is about everything in a person, even if you are someone that thinks looks arent everything that is part of the 100 so the 80 100 was to say does someone have to be perfect for u to date them and majority of the men went yea because they dont consider the term settling like women do, they may not be vain but the concept someone has to be everything means she better be everything the other person wants too and you cant decide what you are to the other person thats not how people work
@jolieuk9734
@jolieuk9734 10 ай бұрын
@@sdbzfan1 I think that could also depend on how the people taking the survey interpreted the question. Having 100% of what you want doesn’t necessarily mean having 0% of what you don’t want in a partner. If having a good paying job was the 1 trait you were looking for in a partner then many people would be 100% of what you were looking for in a partner, regardless of the other traits they possess. At least I didn’t hear that question as requiring complete perfection in a person. I would say my partner hits my 100%. There are many things he’s working on and growing as a person in general. But he also has many traits I would honestly consider bonus traits I never realized I wanted in a partner. And I’m the same to him. We’re both growing and improving as people, and give each other room to make mistakes. I don’t even know if perfection is possible for a person in the long term.

Love this! So relatable. Literally so many of the frustrations of a couple stem from our different upbringings and experiences and it's about blending them to create an environment, relationship and communication style that thrives, and that doesn't mean having to leave behind or change your perspective or experiences, it's about adding to it and being open to theirs. SOs have a huge impact on your individual growth.

Psychologist and scientists need to do a study on podcast like genius brain because there's something about certain podcasts like this that are just so freaking cathartic. Which, I've never used that word in a sentence before let alone even understood its proper context. But after looking it up it fits here perfectly. I've said this before and I'll say it again, listening to this podcast sometimes feels light therapy and I didn't understand why before, but not understanding the context of cathartic I do.

I agree on the dating topic. Women today have lost their damn minds! I always offer money for my stuff on a date. I don't feel a type of way if the man actually takes my money. We don't know each other so I like to show who I really am. I'm not a mooch 🤷🏽‍♀️ yet here I am single 🤷🏽‍♀️

In many ways the expectations from women stem from the pressure men put on each other. Men and women alike have problems in relationships but i think only women expect men to read minds and somehow understand indirect communication. Yes, men should pay attention to a womens intent or feels etc, but even Lesbians are talking about just how unreasonable too many (not all) women are or have become.😂 I think Comedian called Dante Nero once said "Men are the only ones expected to be good at relationships and sex with no practice."

Not really. Men don’t put pressure one each other so much as we just naturally compete. Competition always comes with presser but it’s not something anybody is “putting” on you. We only compete because the opposite sex exists and therefore there is an “ideal man” to be. Even if there isn’t any one person that has everything the fact that people would still want it is where the pressure comes from. The pressure comes from wanting to be worth something. If someone genuinely didn’t care they pressure becomes irrelevant. That lets you know it’s more internal.

Unfortunately the 80% or 100% thing is because alot of the time, men will cheat on you because they found that last 20% in another woman. Throwing away a long term marriage with wonderful woman because they found a younger sexier mysterious woman 😅
