I think most Americans need to do thorough research into Cuba, how their system works.Supermarkets often only have 5 products when you get there, you must have a commie card to even enter. Must get up at 5-6 am on the only day of the week you are allowed to shop. After one store, you repeat the process into evening, store after store, lucky to have found 3 of 10 items you wanted, and may have to leave some behind because you can't afford it, on the extremely low, universal income every resident gets monthly. Americans are so spoiled and take everything for granted. One of those chickens in Cuba would be a feast for the entire family. Meat in poor countries is rare, they often have to but rotten, putrid meat from underground markets who wash and bleach the meat, but it stills smells rotted. Best if Americans get to researching, humble themselves and learn to appreciate every little thing they have.

There is a big difference between food safety guidelines and reality! BUT no matter what, it's VERY IMPORTANT to make sure you reheat your food properly (center at least 160F using a temperature probe ) before eating as well as smelling/checking it to see if it spoiled since environment and handling (kids/people touching food with dirty/unwashed hands) can make any food spoil sooner than expected/normal. I've learned this the hard way! Your stomach and butt will be grateful!

Someone who works at one of these places should give us the scoop. Some days, they’re delicious other days they smell horrendous. I was wondering if they take chicken that’s about go bad and cook those.

What about before they are even cooked? I worked in a butcher shop a few decades ago. My first night of work... within 5 minutes of being there I discovered about 10 chickens floating in a solution of bleach and water in the common sink that was used for cleaning gross things. Why where they floating in that solution? That was the butcher shop's way of getting sliminess off old chickens. All that is true. I couldn't believe that at first but after a while of working there I got used to various gross things like that.

#Walmart sells their rotisserie chickens even when they are no longer safe to eat. I bought one at their Sauk Centre MN store and the meat was already breaking down, literally mush. After that and having the wheels on my car damaged when they didn't use proper tools to install tires I and many friends stopped working there and and are passing the word around to grocery shop at Aldi & other stores locally, using a lot of manufacturer coupons and discount apps that don't work with Wal-Mart.

I don’t buy them often, but I think the ones in Sam’s are kept much hotter than the ones I see at Walmart! I also always cut and pan fry them due to the leg/thigh not really cooked enough (that’s what they should be more worried about)!

The last roasted chicken I bought was at Sprouts. Organic. Dill flavored. Sounds crazy but it sure was good. Very hot in the container under the lights and warmer--never worried about bacteria. Most of the time just buy raw and cook. Easy peasy. 400° 25 mins. on one side up; turn over for 25 mins. on other side; 20 mins. on back. Juicy with lots of pan drippings. Can pour butter over or rub softened butter + garlic under skin.

why don't they just buy the cold chicken instead of the hot ones anyway? by the time they drive home, unpack bags, put food away, the chicken is cold and spent at least another hour out of safe temperature. I don't eat chicken but how hard is it to throw a chicken in a pot, cook it in the oven? I buy chicken thighs for my rescue animals, throw them in a big pot with water, boil for an hour and it's done.no big deal. People are so lazy these days.

Those bagged chickens are always like that this ain’t nothing new, also Costco loses money on their chicken but is it really worth the wait for a chicken when there’s a long line? Just buy a whole chicken and make it to your taste and it’ll be fresher and healthier than any chicken from the store

As an instacart shopper I've noticed these rotisserie chickens fly off the shelves. It's a commonly ordered item and some of these grocery stores make their rotisserie chickens throughout the day. A lot of times I'll be doing my shopping while I'm waiting for a new batch to come out of the oven.

At walmart where the rotisserie chicken are at the warmer, just ask them what the temperature of the warmer is at. They should look behind the warmer at the base. And if the the rotisserie temperature is below 135. Dont but it..if it's been sitting out more than 4 hours below that temp, dont buy it If you buy their cold chicken, put it in a pan with some water and cook it in the oven. Chilled chicken makes the best dumplings or soup.
