From *my* experience, THAT is when the heavy helps comes rushing in. It may not feel it now. It may not look it now. But it will. I lost both my parents in a year, my remaining sister to suicide between those two parents' death, lost two jobs because I couldn't appropriately grieve any of my losses, and add a beyond- rancid-divorce to tie it all up into one nasty heart-stomping package...and it spells, "I am D O N E." I came as close as close can be to permanently resolving my grief for good. My dog, my cat, and my God convinced me that was a bad plan. Grab on to the right kind of support. You will make it through this. I never thought I ever would. But I did. My heart and thoughts are with you.

Went through my son's death by suicide, my brother 's death 9 days later, my sister 's death 10 days after that. My close friends have gotten together a few times. My community group and church helped amazingly. Afterwards I have experienced such lonliness panic attacks, claustrophobia, and overwhelming grief. Some people have immediately wanted to go out and eat, and do barbeques. The people I invested 13 years of my life in are for the most part nowhere to be seen. I am still invited weekly to group. But what I need and have needed was to be visited, and sat with. What ever happened to visiting the widow in her affliction?

I feel you ❤I also went through similar losses in quick succession. First a son 3 weeks later granddaughter then 4 parents within 1 years time..only we my immediate family remained in super tight closeness every single other family and friend continued on with their lives as was appropriate. But we “immediate” family were lucky that we had each other. Support groups are vital for those going through grief and loss. Sending you love and understanding 😘

I feel your grief!! I have struggled in my grief alone for a long time. Feeling alone is the worst feeling. When the quiet sets in your grief becomes unbearable. It is so hard when you have no support group. You need a shoulder to cry on and yet you don't want to burden others.

Kaylin, I am so sorry that your father is in validating your traumatic experience. It is one of the most heartbreaking things when a parent doesn't back you up and see the damage that even an emotional abusive affair can cause! I know this journey is going to be hard for you, but no, there are so many who understand what you're going through because we've been through it! my father kept working with my ex-husband after I left. I was severely abused during that marriage, 13 years! In my mind, I kept rationalizing the whole thing, the business was in my name, so my dad was continuing to work there to bring in funds for my ex, and for myself? it still hurt like hell! You have got to tell your dad how you feel and that by him supporting your ex, because that is what he is doing, it will severely affect your relationship with your dad.

As someone who’s addicted spouse left after two decades of waiting for healing this was nice to hear. It’s something I don’t know if I could handle, if he finally healed and then gave the nice version of himself to someone else. It’s nice to hear that it registered with this man. Good for him. Facing guilt so openly shows he’s really done the hard work.

I watching it delayed and he's completely right. The importance of being believed and validated after divulging sexual assault is crucial. My parents chose not to and as a result of their choices and beliefs, I can barely talk to them. I can only talk about light fluffy things. And I only have contact for my family and having a familiar place to go. My dad was openly sympathizing with my sexual predator. There's no coming back from that. Especially when I know the apologies are facades.

I agree somewhat, but this was in the visitation room with the deceased relative so I think that demands utmost silent respect for the deceased and respect for their relatives / close friends who are at the height of unbearable grief together with the build-up to the funeral after the loss of their loved one. After the funeral, when people gather for a drink and food, then the atmosphere relaxes somewhat and is expected to give way to a more social gathering and catch ups. If you imagine it was your close relative lying in a coffin before you say goodbye forever and guests were laughing.

I think her dad is secretly cheating or has cheated and the husband knows it and the dad doesn't want to open that can of worms. That's why he hasn't fired the husband. It has nothing to do with the season of agriculture that the business is in. Or Maybe the dad knows his daughter will stay in the marriage (probably like her mom did), and for that reason there is no need to fire the husband. Just my 2 cents 😊

It takes serious work and constant communication to keep a marriage exciting. I’d say it was less about her saying she loves him, and more about him wanting to feel attractive and special. The source is his own lack of confidence and insecurity. He can’t look in the mirror and feel good about himself. Probably in more than one way. Not her job.

She doesn't take care of them alone. She still demands her husband come over at certain times to help with the kids. Having children is a reason for decreased love, but it isn't an excuse.
