A common thing when someone struggles to stay asleep is waking up with spiralling thoughts in the middle of the night. Once they are awake, their thoughts can take over, making it impossible for them to fall asleep again.

“If we’re ignoring our body all day, it’s going to speak to us the moment we lie down on our bed.”
For some, this happens when they first lay down. For others, they can fall asleep easily but then wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep.
