Thanks so much for the information on the watering. I'm new to the echeveria collecting & couldn't figure out why my leaves on a couple of them got spongy. I thought I over watered them. I gave them some water after your video & they bounced back. I had to tell you , you saved my plants. I had to take off the head of one. I hope it still grows. ♥️Thank you.♥️

Thank you for sharing the info on the kiwi. It’s winter here and it’s cold and my kiwis are outside. I’m just bringing them to safe area in my garden. There’s a lot of info in every video you make. My observation is that growers, in my opinion, in different places like Australia or Southern California name the same plant differently. Some, not all. Again, I enjoy watching your videos, sometimes I watch them twice to get all the information I need. Maraming maraming salamat!😊❤️

You are right about Lola and Derenceana.Lola is bit pinkier than Derenceana but almost identical. Lola is hybrid of lilacina and derenbergii. But Derenceana hasnt identified for sure.I heard specialists are arguing 2 possibilities. One is hybrid of derenbergii and lilacina.(opposite hybrid of Lola) Another is hybrid of Tippy and lilacina. Most important fact is that they are both very beautiful succulents😄
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
I agree with your opposite hybrid theory. I have another pot of "Lola" that are actually cuttings from my Mother Derenceana (fake Lola labelled). And to add to the confusion, I have another two plants that were "Lola" but ??? LOL...Too confusing.

Hi Liz, love your videos..thank you. What are your tips for choosing pot size? I’ve got quiet a few bought online I’ve put into tube 6.5cm Pots to start..I’m itching to put them into 17cm terracotta pots.. I have repotted the biggest ones, going fine so far. Is it best to check the roots fill the tube pot before going up a size? 😁
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the plant. Some like a lot of soil and other will actually stunt their growth if placed in a large pot. Too much information for me to write it here. I'll just try a make a video for this topic. But for now, if the plant is getting to big for the pot and it starts shrinking...then time to repot to a bigger pot.

I donmt know why, but my Lola’s hates me even though I love them 😭 Their leaves are all level to the soil, and I don’t understand, because I have them under grow lights, and I know they get enought light 😔 I have other succies that has low leaves too, like E. Laui, and I just don’t get it ☹️ As always I love watching all your beautiful plants, keep up the good work 🥰

That's a sign that the grow light you have doesn't have enough solar spectrum. Maybe try putting them near a window. You should be able to see the changes within just a week.

@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK that’s what I don’t understand, because according to my moist/light meter and a lux reading app, they do get enought light 😖 If they didn’t wouldn’t all of my succies be 4m high now? 😅 And since the sun left Denmark some months back, I can’t give them that 😳

Hello, I am from Iraq, and the weather returns hot in the summer and the heat begins to exceed 40 degrees starting from April and reaches its peak during the months of July and August and ranges between 48 and 50 degrees and the weather remains hot until mid-October How do I behave with succulents during that period, especially ecchifera, crassula, sedum, ionium and others .
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
Some Aeonium and crassula goes to sleep when hot(over 25°C). Some echeveria grows when hot. The secret is really the right soil mix and watering regimen. Information on how to grow them and take care of them are throughout my videos. Please take a look at the many videos in my channel. Cheers, Liz

Most of my propagated Lola came from an inflorescence leaf. I usually harvest the leaves on the flower stalk just before it blooms and it has been successful for me. Takes a while(2 months) but they do germinate(60% success rate for me). Elegans and setosa I just take cuttings. Good luck!

A blogger in the Philippines advised to water succulents not in the center of the plant. Only along its sides. Do you think she is correct?
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
Where in nature or the wild do you see rain watering plants only side ways. I water my succulents as Mother Nature intended. In some places in the wild, these plants don't get watered for eight months and when the rainy season come, some are under water for a couple of weeks.
