I'm using different schools' Net Price Calculator. Many of them are asking for parent's retirement fund info as well as home value. I thought none of this was considered.Depending on whether you fill this section in or not will vastly influence the results of the calculation. Is the school entitled to parent's retirement fund info even when it is not on the FAFSA application?

Need help! My husband I are separated but we still file a joint return. It is not a legal separation. When I filled out the Fafsa I indicated separated and just reported my income; however it asked for my filing status as well which is jointly. The Fafsa came back with an error and now states there was no aid awarded. What do I do???

The Fafsa thinks that your family has $10,968 to give you for your college expenses. They will subtract that from your aid package

Hi, parents are non US citizens, do not live in US. Can our son who is attending US university and is US citizen( we had him when in school in Florida) file fafsa as an independent. He is making money now giving tennis lessons in US. Your help is greatly appreciated, tx

I was adopted out of foster care at 14, so I meet the independent status as someone who was in foster care after their 13th birthday. My adoptive mother completed my FAFSA and listed me as a dependent, leaving me with a high EFC. Is this considered fraud? If so are there any options for student loan debt relief due to this?

social security disability does not have to be reported but disability through an employer does have to be reported as untaxed income
