I’ve also seen that if they are in fight mode, you need to walk into them to make them walk away. When they’re in aggro mode, they move whatever direction you do, and they’re faster than you. So if they approach to fight, you need to dance with them until they leave fight mode. If you run away, they’ll outrun you and kill you.

I really hope baboon hawks jumping onto ships is a bug, it would bring the game in a REALLY BAD direction if that is an intended mechanic. Everyone would have to go right to the front of the ship and drop their loot behind some bunkbeds in the corner because birds might just jump onto your ship and take everything one by one. I also hope that the old birds are nerfed a little bit, we have enough problems as is dealing with giants camping the ship even after the update that supposedly stopped that. We also still have issues where on maps with poor visibility/fog the giants can spot you and you don't even know where they are coming from.
