Now I was told I'm not contagious. Your saying I can give this to someone else. I was told we all have this, theres just something that happens that triggers this within the body. I've been a widow for 29 years and I'm 69. I feel I've had issues at times but it resolved itself until now. Is this info correct?

The biggest question we who have had it all have is "where did it come from"? I would also add "how do I know that I have it"? I was diagnosed as positive by way of blood antigen test, but learned after the triple therapy that the blood antigen test only indicates that I have had it at some point in my life and will still show positive for the rest of my life even if it was 100% eradicated. A stool antigen, or urea breath test are indicative of "active" H. Pylori infection. The more invasive endoscopy biopsy and subsequent test will also show if there is an active infection. The next big question is "was treatment successful in 100% eradication", otherwise surviving bacterium are likely to propagate back to numbers that caused the symptoms in the first place and be more resistant to the method of treatment that was used on them. I don't know that any of the tests for H. Pylori are that absolute to guarantee a 100% eradication. In lesser developed countries, water, food and lower overall sanitation are likely sources of initial infection. The point that this video makes regarding family members being a source of re-infection makes a lot of sense as a highly likely possibility of recurring symptoms, but recurring symptoms may also be from the same infection that was only reduced to the point of symptom reduction, eradication and not eradication of the actual infection. Bananas and white rice were the only things I could eat without violent reaction in my gut when I was at my worst point. I feel much better after completing triple therapy 4.5 weeks ago. I took Bifidus and Acidophilus probiotics during and for 2 weeks after triple treatment. Still waiting for endoscopy consult in late March to see if infection has cleared up and whether there is any resulting damage..

H Pylori can come from food, touching door knobs and other surfaces that may be contaminated (like any other infection) and from people. This video focused on people and that's something my clients forget about. H Pylori eradication is not 100% with triple therapy. People shouldn't assume that one round of treatment completely eradicated the bacteria. Retesting is absolutely needed (I use DNA-based stool test with virulence factors). Also, yes to agree with what you're saying, treatment may lowered it to a "safe" level, but if the pH of the stomach changes and became more alkaline, it can trigger the bacteria to grow again. After treatment, the goal is prevention and restoring stomach acidity/proper digestion.

Right no one should eve le take antibiotics to treat HP that’s a huge mistake everyone has HP and even if you eradicate it it will comeback sooner or later the antibiotics are so freaking harmful to our bodies and they have some serious consequences..,

As far as I understand once your body has contracted H. pylori you will die with it. It's all about keeping the levels in our guts to a low level (under a certain number). What I'm trying to understand is why it's being spoken of like being contracted again. How my brain works is if someone keeps having HIGH levels of H. pylori from testing then something is allowing it to thrive. How could we be passing it back and forth if both people or a group has it??? Any research studies or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Can I ask, you say it is transferred by saliva , is that by sharing a drink or same utensil? Or more as passionate kissing or sharing an apple ? however everyone should be tested.

passionate kissing is not the only concern. We see it in family members, parents, children, even grandparents… so I would say even taking a bite from someone’s food or sharing a drink or utensil can be a problem

Thank you, my main concern is I have been around a lot of kids recently , hugging and a kiss on the cheek etc but not sharing foods or drinks . So I’m concerned that if my bacteria isn’t going away anytime fast , I’m worried for any little ones getting it

Actually this was a response to many versions of the same question, which is, “why do I keep getting it?” Some people don’t realize it’s coming from their family members or partners or dogs licking their face…so the point of this video is to get the people you share saliva contact with tested even if they don’t have symptoms.
