Québecois are so touchy about language which is understandable because of English's massive influence from the US and the rest of the Canada. That's why they insist on the French translated titles. The funniest thing I found about that is they put "ARRÊT"on a stop sign even when France uses the word STOP. LOL

I love this video darling Alexa, My very favorite French translation of an English language movie title... is "Un justicier dans la ville" (meaning) A vigilante in the city. "Un justicier dans la ville" was the French release title for "Death Wish" (1974) ............................. "A View To A Kill" (was released in France as) Dangereusement vótre ............................... I must try to remember some more 🤔

Hungarians also tend to give strange titles to famous movies. Alien became "Nyolcadik utas a halál", which means The eighth passenger is death (because it was the alien itself) Home alone is "reszkessetek betörők!" meaning "burglars, shake with fear!" Gilmore girls became "szivek szállodája" or hotel of the hearts Monty Python and the holy grail is "gyalog galopp" or gallop on foot. But the most laugh you will have is probably out of the Hungaram version of the film "Le boulet" : A tökös, török, az őr, meg a nő", or in English: The brave guy (literally the the guy with balls), the Turk, the warden and the woman. 😀

Sometimes they will even change movie titles for other English speaking countries like Australia. Like "Airplane" was changed to "Flying High". Reason here was it's release was delayed till the following year when another airplane titled movie came out, so they changed it to avoid confusion.

@@godfearingheathen They did the same thing with Tangled. Disney got spooked by the poor theatrical performance of The Princess and the Frog, and thought that princess movies couldn't sell anymore. So they changed the titles of the ones that they still had in production to make them more appealing to boys. I doubt it had anything to do with princesses, and everything to do with The Princess and the Frog not living up to the standard of previous Disney movies, but that's just my two cents.
