Speaking about Mary doesn't put Jesus low, ruther is a short way of highlight about Jesus and the role of Mary in the the work of salvation and her place to day in the pilgrim church saved by her Son.

@@jakuzlebza745 As a R.Catholic it is my belief that even though there is denial that Mother Mary is worshipped, I honestly believe from my close observations within the Faith, She is worshipped by many Catholics. There are many other practices within the R.C. Faith which I find distasteful as a Christian believer & follower of Jesus Christ our God. However, my focus is not on all the man-made external trimmings & rituals BUT on the essence of what as Roman Catholics we stand for & believe in - *JESUS CHRIST OUR GOD* as our Redeemer & Saviour and life-giver on this Earth .

@@patthompson8591 that is what we R.Catholics believe and give our highest respect to the MOTHER of our Lord Jesus who is our best friend. Jesus did say to the disciples 'from now on I say you are my friends and there is no greater love than to give life for a friend'. Just before dying Jesus explicitly handed over the responsibility to become Mother of His followers and so the disciple accepted her as his mother too. But the people ignore and disregard these truth. Those who don't respect Mother of Jesus should visit Lourdes Fatima, Bayoung, Medjugorje, Akita etc etc.Our Mother Mary is ALIVE TODAY. Those who don't believe has no right to criticise and insult our Spiritual Mother Mary.

Though I was an altar boy in my adolescence I think I only implicitly knew the significance of the vestments. We did not receive a specific lesson about them. Interesting to know this. I have been singing with an Episcopal choir for several years, and I think I learned more about this topic from the clergy there.

It should be noted that in the later 19th century and the early 20th century, in Western society, any "gentleman" wore a detachable, still collar, with a tie, unless they wore it backwards, which practice came to be favored by clergy. People generally like their clergy to look as they have looked, and so clerical garb may simply preserve the fashion of a previous era -- the collar, the Victorian era, the cassock, medieval, the stole & chasuble, antiquity. But, the association of these items of clothing with persons in Holy Orders lends them a certain perceived sanctity. I might be wearing the collar right now, or I might not. With my long beard, it would take some impertinence for you to find out!

SALaM, SHLAMa, SHLOMo, SHALoM, NAMASTe, PEACe. Jesus Christ Son Of Mary The Messiah, Was Taken To Heaven By The Creator As Some Had Plotted To Crucify Him, At The Last Supper. God Made Someone Else Resemble Him, Whom Was Judas, Who Was Taken By The Romans Instead, Buried In The Jerusalem Tomb. The Word Christ Derives From The Greek Word 'Christos' Translating As The: Chosen & Anointed. The Word Messiah Comes From The Arabic/Hebrew Word 'Messiach', Also Meaning Chosen. Jesus Did Not Speak Greek or Hebrew, He Spoke Aramaic. John 14:28 “I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I” John 20:17 '‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” John 5:30 "I cannot do anything on my own." Mark 10:18 ''Why do you call me good? No one is good, except God alone.'' This Unsettled The Roman Empire, Because This idea Of Monotheism Went Against Their Polytheistic beliefs, Where The Emperor Was Both Emperor And God, Akin To The Pharaoh. They Persecuted The Followers Of Jesus, And The Roman Empire Servant Saul Of Tarsus, Was Out To Destroy Jesus. Saul Never Managed To Meet Jesus In Real Life, But Saul Claimed he Saw A Dream And Said He Will Now Preach The Reformed Teachings Of Jesus. Jesus Was Always Commanded To Preach Pure Monotheism, Which He Did And The Earlier followers were Monotheistic, which Later Changed With The Roman Empires Paganism Restored. The Holy Kaaba was recorded by the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus before Christ Era. The Kaaba, A Black Cubical Building At The Centre Of The Grand Mosque Of Mecca. The Jewish Tefillin [Prayer Leather Box] With The Seven Straps Around The Arms, Relates To The Seven Circumambulation Around The Kaaba. Then God Sends An Asteroid From The Heavens, Which Lands, Which Is Later Placed On The Corner Of The Kaaba [First Temple]. The Kaaba Akin To King Solomon's Temple, As Been Destroyed And Rebuilt. Agreed. This is annoying &unnecessary. Education needn't have background music if it's well done. Much of the narrative was lacking, repetitive, not elaborate sufficiently, particularly exactly HOW the stole has any relation to ancient Rome. The images didn't depict this garment. The Chasuble was a shepherd's poncho or blanket with a hole for the head--which is why the Roman chasuble went out of fashion after Vatican II--to emphasize that the pastor is a shepherd of his religious flock.

Out of dozens so far, haven’t met a Roman Catholic YET who is able to correctly answer the ONE question guaranteed to give that person confidence on the Day of Judgment if heartfelt as is implied in 1 John 4:17 and to save him/her from that “second death” as Revelation 21:8 puts it while an incorrect answer guarantees the polar opposite of confidence on the Day of Judgment. Instead, sadly, it will be a matter of one “shrinking back and being destroyed” as Hebrews 10:19 implies. One of the most loving things one person can do for another is to help that “another person” fly as high as possible in Jesus while giving thought to eternity at the same time: “What have you got that I haven’t got? I want that too.” The East/West Schism of 1054 is self-explanatory. Eastern Orthodoxy ended up siding with Christianity while Western Orthodoxy sided with Roman Catholic church. I personally like how this one priest in Alaska put it once: “Yeah, but I don’t want any of that ‘Rome’ stuff.” If you ever hear the term “Protestant”, it’s a Roman Catholic. Run...FAST. 🙏

This isn't correct. The collar has it's origins in secular fashion, when everyone wore detachable collars in the 1800s, fashions moved on but the clergy kept the look. This is also the case with with most clerical dress. The full collar as a distinctive item of clerical dress was 1st worn by Presbyterian ministers, then by Anglicans and finally by Catholics in 1900s it became so popular with Catholic clergy that the Presbyterian Collar became known as the "Roman Collar." It wasn't worn by Catholic clergy before the end of Victorian era, a simply Google search of historical clerical portraits will show that Catholics didn't wear them. Vestments are based on the imperial court dress of Rome in the west and Constantinople/Russia in the east, copes were originally practical cloaks etc again secular fashions moved on, but the clergy once they adopted an item retained it and made it their own - they have always mimicked the aristocracy through time.

The stole is worn by Bishops, Priests, and Deacons in performing their liturgical duties. It is also the symbol of their commitment to God and the Church

ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM: Do you wish to honor the Body of Christ? Do not ignore Him when he is naked. Do not pay Him homage in the temple clad in silk - only then to neglect Him outside where He suffers cold and nakedness. He who said: “This is my body” is the same one who said, “You saw Me hungry and you gave Me no food” and “Whatever you did for the least of My brothers, you did also for Me”. What good is it if the Eucharistic Table is overloaded with golden chalices, when he is dying of hunger? Start by satisfying his hunger, and then, with what is left, you may adorn the altar as well.

the mentioning that it is "ímportant" is kind of exaggerated. Those are thoughts laid in later and by devotion, not in the function. The vid schow also wrong clothing during liturgical events several times. A cassock is néver used without additional wearables when a minister performs liturgical services.

The cassock was always worn with a surplice--a lace long-sleeved tunic. Cassocks are still worn by Cardinals but not many other clerics. They were typical for Confessions along with the purple stole.

How about Good Friday when it is worn with nothing else. Many non conformist ministers would also wear like that as well regardless of the season.

I was raised a catholic, until…I actually seriously started to read the Bible. We can read in Scriptures that Lord Jesus commanded the Apostles to first preach the Gospel to the Jews, and after also to the Heathen or Gentiles (but never vise versa ! ). I found out in Scriptures who of the Apostles for the first time went to Rome .. and it wasn't Peter. In the Book of Acts it says in Chapter 28 the following: 16 "And when we came to Rome, the Centurion delivered the Prisoners to the Captain of the Guard: but Paul was allowed to live in a house, by himself, with a Roman Soldier that kept him. 17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the Chief of the there living Jews together: and when they came together, Paul said to them: "Men and Brethren, though I have committed nothing against our people, our customs, or against our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans 18 who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of guild in me. 19 But when the Jews spoke against that verdict, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had made any accusations against my Nation. 20 For this Hope (the Gospel of Jesus Christ) therefore I have called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because for the Hope of Israel I am bound with these chains. 21 The Chief of the Jews said to Paul: "We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning you, neither any of the Brethren that came from there shewed or spoke any harm of you. 22 But we desire to hear of you what you think: for concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere". The Roman catholic church claims that it was Peter who went to Rome first to preach the Gospel there first and that it was Peter who founded the Church there. Question: who lies? God,... or the Roman catholic church ? And what about the Letter in the Bible from Paul to the Congregation of Galatians where it says this in Chapter 2? From verse 7 we read the following: 7 "But on the contrary, when they saw that the Gospel of the Uncircumcision (Gentiles) was committed unto me, as the Gospel of the Circumcision (Jews) was unto Peter; 8 for He that gave Peter power effectively to the Apostleship of the circumcision (again: the Jews), the Same was Mighty in me toward the Gentiles. 9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the Grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we (that are Paul and Barnabas) should go unto the Heathen, and they unto the Circumcision. Again dear catholics: who lies? God’s Word, or the Roman catholic church? Bible, the book of Acts, Chapter 5, verse 29 : Then Peter and the other Apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey GOD - rather than man” !! Since the Roman catholic 'church' claims to be well-read on scriptures, then please point me in the direction of where in the Bible it says to pray to a woman, or with a rosary praising Mary, or to dead “saints.” Lord Jesus calls every believer Saints which all are who received the Holy Spirit and confess that Jesus is Lord - so Rome has no authority appointing only some people saint - that is ludicrous. Please show me the name ‘pope’ in the Bible? Please show me where it says to call any mortal sinful man (the pope) your father. Please show me where the Bible says anything about purgatory, or paying indulgences (buying yourself into heaven - is God corrupt ?). Please show me where Mary was sinless? Why is it that Catholics worship Mary still as a virgin when Lord Jesus had half brothers and half sisters? Please show me where it says to confess your sins to a fellow sinful man so that he may forgive them? Where does the Bible say the pope is the “vicar of Christ” on earth? Show me where it says that a preacher must be unmarried? It was the pagan ROMAN Emperor Constantine who was in fact the first “pope” and he didn't allow for the common people to have Bible Scriptures...to keep believers ignorant, as the Catholic Church still does. Later pope’s started the ‘inquisition’ because the book printing machine was invented and people like William Tyndale could spread the Bible to the common people: he was burned to dead for that by decree of Rome, and so were hundreds others who did the same and because they denounced the FALSE doctrines of Rome, and they were called heretics and witches by the Roman catholic “church”- they were tortured, burned to dead - and murdered !!! GET OUT OF THIS FALSE CHURCH !!! The Roman catholic “church” is a continuation of the old Roman PAGAN Empire: it never went away as it disguised itself as a Christian Church. Read Revelation, Chapter 17: verse 7, 8 and 9

I give church tours regularly. Even those Catholics who attend daily Mass could not answer why the liturgical colors indicate what season or that the feast represents a martyr. None know the difference between a Deacon's dalmatic nor the priest's chasuble. The alb took the place of cassocks except in the case of Cardinals who--worldwide--wear cassocks. Birettas also. Know what that means JDQEntity? Neither do 99% of Mass-attending Catholics. They don't know what a tabernacle or Monstrance or Lunette or pyx are either...Docents who give Catholic Church tours have a powerful evangelism stint! RCIA candidates know more than cradle Catholics and many docents know more than the clergy!

In his earlier years, Luther referred to Mary as the "Queen of Heaven", but he warned against people using the term too much. Luther later rejected this title due to its lack of scriptural evidence and the fact that he felt that Mary's accomplishments should be ultimately attributed to Christ.

The 'raison d'etre' of our salvation is/wasn't that Christ was sent "solely to die" to save. It would be a cruel "god" like Zeus who'd plan that. Rather,He was incarnated to show us how to be 'rooted'in God. We're human and human imagery of Christ and His creation connects us to our essence!

Because it was invented in 1865 in Glasgow by a Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) minister and subsequently adopted by Anglicans, non-conformists and, eventually, Roman Catholics. Although it is sometimes called the "Roman Collar", it was *not* invented by the Catholics.
