He could sing ballads and belted out ROCK and ROLL with the best of them,, one of my favorite lead singers from the Brits, REST in peace Mike I always regret hearing about that faithful decision you made that night when you climbed the fence then fell. We are still listening Michael I hope you're RESTING in PEACE. 👍💥💥🙏🙏.

Dave Clark himself = ass Mike Smith = only band member talent Ron Ryan = fantastic ghostwriter Bobby Graham = great session drummer Adrianne Kerridge = great studio engineer Other session musicians = great Dave Clark Five = great musical project Band name should have been the Ron Ryan Five, Mike Smith Five, or the Bobby Graham Five. As responsible as Dave Clark was for their success, I do not hold him in high regard at all.

Clark somehow got Ed Sullivan to waive his no-lip-sync rule for them. Having said that, they did try to perform Any Way You Want It live and it was a disaster. They tried to emulate the echo effect with their voices. You won't find that "performance" on You Tube.

By far Dave Clark Five is an underrated band in present day. No shit, they’re absolutely brilliant especially with their gritty sound. I like how they”33 really loud & enthusiastic. The Beatles were geniuses, The Rolling Stones were holding the Rebel Flag, Herman’s Hermits are the nice guys, The Animals are the brutal British Blues but The Dave Clark Five... Hell man, they’re Decent Rebels. I like their sound.

@Will Shank Bobby Graham and Eric Ford were the two session players, plus the Les Reed Orchestra...Mike,Lenny,and Denis were the real deal. Not discounting Dave or Rick’s ability, it seems session players cut down on the amount of time/money spent in the recording studio....guess pinching pennies is just business as usual.🤷🏻♀️

@@fangirllinda All you have to do is look at all the work The Wrecking Crew did in the studio in place of The Beach Boys, Monkees, etc. etc. You are spot on about the time part.
