I used a box spring under my mattresses for most of my life. These past 4 years are the only time I have not used a box spring. I agree that it helps extend the life of your mattress by keeping it in better condition. I also used the protective cover as well. I like to try keep items as close to their newness for as long as possible. In addition, it always felt pretty neat to be sleeping so high above the ground! Thanks for my giveaway entry.

Angela based on your experience, ive just bought a regular king size mattress but should i put it on a box spring only? Or apart from the box spring should i put a slatted bed frame at the bottom of the box spring? Cheers

I just recently just bought one on a amazing store furniture type and just found out that boxsprings are so much better to sleep with so you don’t have to toss and turn so much. The awesome thing is you get a good night sleep and you feel more supported too I have a bad back and parts of my body, I have an IKEA bed. I hate the IKEA bed. It’s because I’m sleeping on foam then a mattress and then wood planks underneath.

Giveaway: my wife and I both are heavy people and recently purchased the king size Casper Select 12" while it was on sale for $650 from Costco. About 2 weeks in so far and no real complaints other than I feel I am sleeping a bit on the warm side. We had the Zinus 12" Green Tea Memory Foam before the Casper and it lasted about 2 years for us before it started to sag and another year before it was almost unusable. Both rested on a platform base and it hasn't had any issues over the last several years.
