Hola! El Cortecito and Los Corales have active nightlife, lots of restaurants and stores. Lots of locals and expats live in the area =)

Looking to stay in the area of Macao, and would like to do a bit of sightseeing around the area. Thinking a car is a good idea. Do you have an idea of the best way to rent a car? Not looking for anything fancy -- cheaper is better!

There are several local car rental places but personally, I’d go with one of the recognized brands like Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc. They have presence at the airport, some at Downtown Mall and on the way to Bavaro 🙂

The only one I can think of is Melo Rent Car. I think I've seen a Jeep Wrangler there for rent :)

Awesome 🙂 look into Montaña Redonda, Playa Esmeralda in Miches, Macao beach, Scape Park, Cueva de las Maravillas, Ojos Indigenas Ecological Park, and on the far side the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo. The beaches I mentioned are free and the colonial zone; the other attractions cost money but are worth it. I would Google all of them and chose the ones that best fit what you’d like to do. I have never been to the Dominican Republic. If you are staying at an all-inclusive resort, renting a car is not necessary.

Te recomendamos contactar a la empresa de alquiler de autos para un precio más exacto ya que el precio depende de muchos factores (tipo de auto, tamaño, lujo, etc.). A ellos mismos pregúntales qué tipo de gasolina debes echarle al vehículo que alquilarás, lo más problable sea gasolina premium que cuesta RD $293.60 o gasolina regular $274.50 por galón. Menos problable es que sea de GLP RD $147.60 por galón o de gasoil RD $241.10. Los precios tienden a cambiar todos los viernes.
