I use the Lumix S5iix for video because I love having the Open-gate format for SM and used my Canon M6 Mkii for Photography. It’s the best combo for me, I just leave my LUMIX balance on the gimbal when doing the photos.

I don't think most people NEED a full frame camera for RE Photography... espescially if you are bracketing your photos and sending them off to Vietnam to be edited / HDR. (Having said that, I do use a full frame Panasonic camera because I wanted a good video camera, and the ones I got just happen to be full frame.)

For beginner real estate photographers, for your normal home, would you recommend APSC sensor or full frame? Video aside, does it really matter? Genuinely curious.

For beginner, APSC is more than fine. Full frame cameras are, indeed, the “better” choice for both photography and videography, but you have to remember that full frame sensors are very recent. All old Hollywood movies were all made with super35 sensors, which is about a 1.35x crop factor over a full frame. Full’s perform better in low light, have less noise, and are overarchingly better cameras, but that doesn’t mean that APSC cameras aren’t perfectly fine for awhile.

I love your kids yawn at 12:43 :-) I was thinking of asking what you'd proritise in purchasing gear-wise...I currently have old Canon Mk2 body, my 24-70mm gave up a few months back so any jobs I've done since then I've rented a lens, mainly through procrastinating about what to buy/switching to mirrorless etc. I don't see the Ricoh Theta for much less than $1000 online..can I ask where you bought yours? The Insta 360 1-inch seems like a possible cheaper option (but not by much) Got the DJI Mini 2, which is ok for video not so versatile for photos..

Haha yeah she’s a funny one! Well if you’re doing real estate, you’ll ideally need something a chunk wider than the 24-70. Either a 16-35 or a 12-24, 14-24, etc. I got mine used off a guy locally. I’ve heard good things about the 1 inch, and the x3, but I’ve also heard bad things about the x3 as well for Matterport. As far as your drone, I’d say it’s more than fine for photos but not for videos actually, but generally speaking, id prioritize getting a nicer drone and a wide angle lens for REP and then getting a 360 camera last. Your 5D mark II is fine, I use the mark 3, after many different mirrorless. I kinda like the old school feel anyways haha. Thanks for your comment :-)

@@reallyjordanhorn yeah that's kind of what I thought. I've rented 15-30 & 16-35's before. I was thinking it'd be good to shoot a property or two for portfolio demoing all the service options on offer: photos/drone/walkthrough/tour to show potential clients..it's a bit chicken and egg I spose(!) The main thing I've seen in favour of mirrorless is using the angled viewer for awkward/cramped bathrooms and easy wireless flash for flambient, and better low light capability of course. I've used pocket wizards in the past to trigger (which I still have) seems a bit last century now!

You don’t even need a DSLR. My iPhone takes better bracketed photos than my camera. In fact, that’s a great idea for a video, you should do a photo shoot using nothing but your phone camera - shoot raw, bracketed, etc…and get them edited as you normally would and see how it turns out.

What settings do you use when capturing photos with your iPhone? When I take 3 and merge them in affinity photo 2, it is very noisy. :( Curious what you use to make it better or satisfactory instead of a DSLR.

The fx30 for photography only shoots one photo at a time. I really want an fx3 because you don’t have to worry about low light but it’s double the amount of at the same time I don’t like to double buy gear. I have an a7rv I just don’t want to be doing the whole put it from the tripod then switching to the gimbal back and forth

You can’t select drive mode in the FX30 and set it to 2.0ev3? That’ll be the first Sony I’ve ever heard of that can’t do that, interesting!
