Since I saw the knobs and noticed that they were for adjusting volume or lighting I asked myself "why would I need to adjust these parameters that I have to have already adjusted if I am broadcasting from my studio?" but hearing your words I am more confident and sure of which streamadeck to buy. As always honest and unbiased information, congrats!

I have the stream deck classic but, I'm also looking for an audio mixer. I didn't think about the fact I can also use the stream deck plus for precise cuts as well. I'm sold on the stream deck plus now, I do intend to start making content and this will make life so much easier. Thank you for the information!

For those that utilize the replay function in OBS, I wonder if you could program the dials to control playback speed on replays? So you could play replays in slow-mo or go frame by frame if you wanted.
@MichaelFeyrerJr2 жыл бұрын
That would be really cool. If its not in there already I wouldnt be surprised if someone made a plugin for that.

100% agree. I use Stream Deck XL in my online corporate training and it is great. I looked at this model and thought, "how do I bring this in to my sessions?" I just can't see what it will do that is not already in my current set-up.

What do you think about the included Wave Link software. I use Voicemeter with a Yeti but Im always having weird issues with VM. I can also see the dials as useful with the volume controls in OBS but heard that isnt a thing yet.

The biggest plus for streamdeck plus is the fact that you also get access to the wavelink software. And you can add any mic in there, no elgato xlr interface or elgato mic required anymore if you have the streamdeck plus!

If you swipe through pages on the Stream Deck+ will another Stream Deck also flip pages? That would save all those page flip buttons you need to use. Please test this out if you can…

Good review but if I’m not mistaken doesn’t the stream deck plus give you access to wavelink as well without having to use an elgato mic? That would be another huge plus to using it over a normal stream deck. Correct me if im wrong I haven’t had a chance to get one yet
@MichaelFeyrerJr2 жыл бұрын
You are correct, But with win audio now built into OBS 28 it does basicly the same thing right in OBS. I am alsways a simpler is better guy.

I like this tool as a way to better manage my audio mixes and access to the Wave Link software helps with that. For Stream Mix alone, there are other tools and OBS has added some better functionality. For my Personal Mix this has been great. With this tool, I can manage both my Personal and Stream Mixes very well. Also, since I work from the same room I stream in, I like being able to manage my lights through this tool. I can adjust my lights quickly throughout the day as I have natural light coming through a window and need to make adjustments to look top notch on my Zoom calls. Once more plugins start leveraging the knobs it will really take off.

For content creators and video editing it shines. The apps and store need major improvements and the dials need refreshing so they can accept multiple buttons as the square press do.

Great honest review. Cleared up a lot of questions I had about this new deck. (Considering the Elgato deck I just got is only 4 months old I thought I was getting ripped off by not getting this new one) (my mind set cause I'm crazy like that) Turns out not the product for me. Great video very informative.

So for me, I'll be working with things like SuperSource, as I stream off an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. This means that it can work better there (dependent on what support is added to Bitfocus Companion for the dials on Blackmagic products). I also rock a HyperDeck and am looking to get a Magewell Ultra Encode HDMI. Plus lights that work via DMX. So a lot of things that fit into the Companion workflow. This means that at the moment, the SD+ really isn't for me. But once the SDK opens up to the public... then we'll see what manner of shenanigans they can pull. Then again, the way I do things is overkill to the max.

A lot of music creators that have Ableton use a device called a Push 2 as a hardware controller because the knobs plus the display strip lets them quickly manipulate things in the moment while they play music. I’ll be people who use Logic would find this pairs great with a Novation Launchpad to enhance their workflows.

Hi Michael, I just got the Elgato StreamDeck XL and I tried connecting it to OBS, but it just keeps displaying “Waiting for OBS” even though OBS is open. 🥺 Do you know if there is a fix to that? Im using a MacBook Pro 2016.

So far I feel as though it is not for everyone, but I do love it. I think the best method for the average streamer would be to get a standard deck. If you can afford it, having the Deck + and a standard at the same time would be by far the best setup. The dials simply don't have enough functionality to warrant it being your only deck as of yet.

I am on the fence about this, it's 200 here. I use Stream Deck XL and nano kontrol to alter sounds on 3 sliders. I have all my game sounds on just one slider, but this does look cool. It'd be nice if they just made a knob/slider edition to accompany people who have already bought a stream deck. Never the less, great review as always!

Like in The Mikado, "Make the punishment fit the crime". You are absolutely right, Michael, MOST live streamers need instant response buttons more than knobs that require at least two fingers to rotate a knob. Now, if Twitch musicians or FX Masters need variable stuff to happen in the stream, maybe this is a good upgrade. Or maybe not.
@nullx82 жыл бұрын
great product, but it sacrifice way too many buttons for the knobs and a useless screen, one of the reasons that makes the SD Mini pointless as well.
