Hey I have this light and I can confirm I'm super impressed. It's ridiculously powerful. At the most powerful setting you just see too bright of a sport if you shine on close objects. I did about 5-6 cave dives with it for now it's amazing. I am banging it, sitting on the canister, dragging it through all kinds of mud in general not treating it nicely and it is holding up well. No competition for the price. None. Hope it lasts long.

Even the D620 has been impressive for years of casual tecrec diving, doubling as a very effective macro photography light. It even survived a saltwater flood--though I eventually retired those batteries (long black hair snuck into the o-rings). Got a spare too, for still less than most any comparable torch A GUE instructor once went pale in disgust when I showed up with it 🙈 Bring yr official "long hose rod" 😆

I recently bought a used D630 (v1) off Facebook marketplace and absolutely love it. It's my first canister light and definitely enjoying it so far.

Another great video Zach great information with a good amount of humor, mixed in good cinematography as well. I got this light for my birthday and totally agree that it’s worth the money I’ve owned other canister lights, based on the money Orcatorch has knocked it out the park.

Love mine! Another cool feature is that the battery pack comes out of the canister and has a USB-A port, so you can use it as a power source for your devices during your plane trip to and from your dive vacation. It’s pretty slim, so it’s not at all awkward to carry and use.

The sweatshop kids knocked it out the park with the orca torch, also big blue lights are great. My favorite chinesium light is the sofirn SD01 however, use it for short no overhead stuff. For proper diving I do break out the light monkey with it's stage sized can that I have yet to drain over a dive haha. But the days of NEEDING to spend 1-2k on a light for more serious stuff are coming to an end. The GUE cultists will still buy that stupid halcyon anal probe thing though xDDD Now if only the chinese could figure out how to make a real dpv for maybe 2k that would be nice

It's hard to to say. Halcyon doesnt list their brightness in lumens like most other companies. They use lux, which is arguably a much better way to measure, but i dont really have a good way to compare them other than side by side. Maybe someone can loan me a focus 2? Lol The focus 2 is likely a better light overall, but you could buy 2 of the orcatorch and it would still be cheaper. Thanks for the question!

Probably overall yes, the Focus 2.0 isn't very bright it just can be focused down to a tiny spot that is impressively bright. But the Focus will outshine D630 dramatically when focused down to the tiny spot, as it can signal with the true 4K OTF lights like the UWLD, Dive Rite EX-35/HP50, and the LM. That being said the Orcatorch isn't very bright, I've seen it in caves it is about as bright as a Dive Rite CX2. I have to dial my EX35 down a notch or two to prevent overpowering it. Orcatorch vastly overstates their brightness numbers and I think a 7 degree spot is being generous. As a rule of thumb when looking at Orcatorch and other similar brands I cut their claimed lumen numbers in half.
