Few things to note: 1. Paint protection works, it’s not rocket science, a film on top of your paint will cause it to lasts longer and protect it from the elements. What they don’t tell you: 1. The coating must be re-applies each year, due to the chemicals degrading naturally with uv damage and such. 2. The dealership will over charge you for the product and the labor. They will also offer warranties that are difficult to apply for, because it’s easy to prove it was a user error as opposed to a manufacturer defect. You can buy coating at any auto store and a few new rags and do this yourself by hand. It will take a bit of time but it’s worth it. My dealer quoted me $1700 CAD for ceramic coating 😂😂😂😂 And lastly, this video is super bias, it’s essentially one big paid sponsorship jeez

1700 is for full paint correction. That's remove scratches, fix imperfections, full spots stuff like that. Wiping the stuff on is around 400 to 1000 it just depends on the quality of clean before hand It takes hours. It is not unusual to spend a full day on one car. That's why it's 1000 dollars

No you don't, they say it protects paint but you want to see them dodge warranty claims on paint going chalky, bird dropping etc. Polish it once a year quickly and my 15 year old car with water based paint is perfect

My wifes Kia Cerato had paint protection and 7 years later the roof bonnet and boot are going in for a respray at a cost of $2200 so my opinion of it all is paint protection was an expensive waste of $$$

I DIY'ed using 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film Pro Series SGH6PRO 4.0 PPF. It took me two whole days to do the entire body of my RAV4 Cruiser Hybrid AWD MY22. Anyone can do it. You'll learn a lot. Plenty of tutorials on youtube. Cost of material is only $400. The detailers quoted me $4,600.

I have been waxing my vehicles for many years using a quality product and have always had my paint look great for 10 years plus. Apply every 6mths and clean often and the results are good. If it stops beading water as much then it is time to re apply the wax.. With today's paint applying wax is an easy action unlike the wax of 15 years ago where you had to put some elbo grease to put on and off. There are also some spry on wax which is great and ezy to put on and off. (but always use a quality brand of car wax for the base wax first)

The whole video is an advertisement for the product and the supplier. Besides, no one can prove that a treatment has been applied because it cannot be verified imminently. There’s no mark or label, like that on a harden glass, telling you that the product has been applied. If it’s not a scam, give me a proof.

It’s all snake oil. Just keep your paint clean and wax it every 6 months and your paint will last a long time. I have a 2003 Commodore still with the factory paint and apart from some slight surface scratches and some door dents doesn’t have any imperfections in the paint.

Better to buy an UV meter and only take it out in low UV. Driving at night also helps the paint from fading.

Are these people saying that the manufacturers paint finish isn’t of reasonable durability? If they are then they are against the Consumer Rights Act!

This type of paint protection does little to protect paint from rock chips. They dont say that because they want you to get the coating.

Car manufacturers have spent millions and million to come up with the best cost effective paint for a vehicle. YOU DO NOT NEED THIS PRODUCT. Its only for the anul people that want nothing but the best and are willing to pay for it. JUST WAX YOUR CAR. And all is well. This vid is more of a promotion of a product than telling you the truth.

I have paint protection on my car and for minor bug splatter etc it works well. But on the sides of my car I have small tar splatters and found it hard to get off, without using some form of polish to remove it. How should you remove the tar?

these products are absolutely necessary, but use only reputable businesses; check reviews. They actually work and never go to someone who may not have adequate insurance if they stuff up your paint. most importantly, you must reconsider if you choose to take your vehicle to a car wash; they must use PH neutral applications and must not use grey water if you love your car. water pressure is key to keeping your vehicle clean of contaminants. never leave something you’ve noticed on the vehicle for too long; ie remove asap.

What an absolute crock of crap. I own a scratch repair business and do a lot of new and used dealer cars from Aston’s to VW’s plus I was a distributor technical paint rep, and a State paint rep for an automotive paint company for 15 years total, and including being a painter for 34 years I can categorically tell you that you certainly don’t need ceramic on your car. I deal a lot with these products, , and it’s got a life span of 2 years if your car spends its life outside a fair bit. My own business car doesn’t have it on it and it’s 3.5 years old and not a hint of paint fade on it. So let’s look at the facts as I’ve been presented too over the years , Firstly your told it stops chips and scratches ; utter garbage no way does it stop this pure 🐂💩 Secondly, you apparently ( and I’ve heard to aftermarket girls say this ) you don’t have to remove bird and bat poo off the car it’ll just wipe off. Then why is it I’ve repaired loads with pitted paint from it? Again 🐂💩 Thirdly, it’ll improve gloss and clarity, nope doesn’t do that either . Try applying it onto a black car then say, polish a square in the centre of a door, the original colour shines through while the surrounding area looks grey. The cars always look milky and if it’s on say an Asian car the paint still fades anyway. Best advice i can give you is don’t put it on a new Asian car within 3 months out of factory as they don’t bake them as well as well as they do in Europe as the clearcoats there are thicker and dry harder than paints supplied to Asian OEM’s. Also one thing and it’s a biggy, if you have to get your car paint repaired and it’s got ceramic on it the paint will not properly adhere to the panels that’s been painted, hence it will after awhile delaminate and start coming off. ( seen it plenty of times ) your paint will only adhere to the panel not cohese ie ; the bonding of chemical coatings to one another. You should try fixing chips or scratches when some half witted detailer has sanded , buffed the applied that stuff over the top of it, it’s just a mess to get off to rectify it. Look, sorry to burst your bubbles but and , It’s up to you but ceramic is a gimmick if you want something better , try the turtle wax Flex Graphene I apply it onto my car and it lasts for 12 months , the gloss is nicer beads better and it’s dead easy to apply plus it’s only $63 at Suoercheap/ Autobahn It can be cheaper on sale. And if you are wanting to get it applied, do your research on the person who’s going to apply it, because often all the cheaper guys do is wash it, dry it. Then apply the coating and it just looks awful . If you see a dark coloured usually an Asian car ( soft paint ) with what looks like water marks on the top surfaces then it’s a certainty it’ll never come out as it’s etched into the clearcoat and the only way to remove it is by sanding it off and painting the panel again. Oh and using PH neutral water? Who has that in tanks handy? That’s what you need in order to preserve the stuff and you’ll need several hundred if not thousand litres of that handy as I said, it’s a clever gimmick that how the yards make their money.

I got it at the dealer, my car lives outside waxing if done by a somebody who has no fucking clue like me sounds like such a big risk. A. You might not need to wax B. Congrats you just put streaks in paintwork and fucked it harder whilst trying to protect it.
