also add insurances - auto , home r lower in VA vs. MD. Home closing is 2-3% in VA while 5-6% in MD. Home prices higher in VA but also appreciate lot more ... and so on VA is right choice as specially Loudoun county lower taxes

A house in Virginia is going to cost you an extra 100k. So add the current mortgage rate by that 100k.

And you are not commuting to downtown DC, why would you be debating between Maryland or Virginia? If your job in Virignia, Virginia is the best choice. If you live in Maryland, Maryland is your best choice.

Which state has the worst drivers, VA or MD? 😂 The one things I observed is that when someone new to the DMV moves here, they pick a side and mostly stay loyal to it for years. Once they become a Virginian, they love to talk crap on Maryland and vice versa. Not sure why it’s that way.
