I have no funds for hot foiling and quite enjoy the double sided adhesive and burnishing. I can certainly see the perfection and beauty of hot foiling. It is definitely a game changer and your beautiful cards prove that. I can see why crafters love hot foiling. 💖💖🇨🇦

@lostinpaper2 жыл бұрын
I haven't done this (as yet) but I do know that it does not affect how the die works. I think you can remove it with 100% 'acetone' but check out Nancy Stamps channel she mentions how to do it.

Will this solid metal plate work with A Go Press and Foil machine?
@lostinpaper2 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen anyone try it with a Go Foil and Press yet but the plate is no 'thicker' than normal hot foil plates so if you can use those then it should be fine. You could ask Neha at Auzz Trinklet's as she sells both the machine and the plate and she may have tried it? Here is my affiliate link for her store just in case you haven't shopped there (she is awesome!) atcraft.com.au/?wpam_id=6

I just purchased a Gemini Hot Foil machine and foil from Crafters Companion and Spellbinders and don’t see a clear sheet to peel off. What am I missing? And thanks for the roller cutter tip!
@lostinpaper2 жыл бұрын
Hi Beth, sounds like you are having fun with hot foiling! When you are using foil as per the instructions there will be no 'clear' layer to remove, this only happens when you use the 'left over' pieces of foil with a solid plate. I hope this makes sense. And yes, the roller cutter is a game changer for sure. Keep on having fun! Tx

@lostinpaper2 жыл бұрын
I haven't used the glimmer system, Nancy Stamps has many videos sharing tips and tricks for all foiling systems, she would definitely be worth checking out (tell her I sent you lol). I would start with different cardstock if you have something else to try, the Hammermill , Spellbinders Glimmer or even Yupo paper are perfect for these large pieces of foil, otherwise play with shims and heating time. Hope this helps.

Hi Therese. I’m sorry I’ve been busy making your Colorado storybook cards for Christmas. I’m just so slow with my MS it takes me ages I have to do everything in stages as I get so tired . Everything ready it took me 4 hours to put 2 cards together that is slow. Thank you for sharing your hot foil tip. I am on order for the hot plate. I’m so glad your using the hot foil machine now. I have had mine a few years and I have the Spellbinders paper too but I’ve yet to use it . I will get mine out and try it out. I hope you are enjoying almost summer down under. Are leaves are just falling off the trees in Northern California but if you go up to Lake Tahoe you will get to ski. Take care Therese. Stay safe. Enjoy your walks on your beach with your fur babies. Think about you even when I’ve not been on site hun. Till next time.Big hug 🤗⛄️🎄🛷❄️🍪🐈🦮

Sooo happy to hear that you have been creating Patti and those 'storybook' cards were such fun! I do think you need to get out the hot foil machine and have a play when you have the energy, it is initially frustrating but once you work out the sandwich for your cardstock, foil brand and foil plates you will love it (just write down what works for you so you don't have to re-learn it every time lol). Summery hugs (it's Summer stormy today) to you x

hahaha I totally hear you Ann. It took me months of 'back and forth' because I couldn't justify having to buy the plates to 'get the look' but then I found out that I could use my regular dies to create thin hot foil lines and I can 'cover' die cut cardstock with foil too.... and I found a great price on the machine right at my birthday time lol. In other words the planets aligned. BUT you can definitely get some amazing foil looks with regular foil and metallic cardstock!
