Either they use HDD only system or HDD for mass storage and SSD faster storage system. It was just a confusion no worries :)

Bro you have another slot for hdd ?? Or a m.2 slot ? If m.2 slot you have to go with ssd no option for hdd ..but if there is slot for hdd you can go with 2tb hdd cause you have already 500gb ssd which is enough .. divide that 500gb into 180 and 320gb parts in 180 install your windows and in 320gb games like rdr2 , gta 5 who takes time to load .. and if 2tb divide 2tb hdd according to your need i will say 1400gb for game .. and 700gb for multimedia files like videos stuffs .. that would be sufficient if i had your laptop configuration than i would do like this only .. well i have 1 Tb hdd in my 4 year old laptop and instead of buying new laptop i am gonna put 250 gb ssd in it .. well my laptop spec is 8gb ram , amd a87410 apu radeon r5 graphic costed me about 26 thousand rupees in 2017 ..and from that time to 2021 .. it run very fine games like gta 5 , hitman 2016 , metal gear solid 5 , call of duty black ops 2, assasin creed black flag , rouge , nfs rivals ,far cry 4 runs at full resolution in high/ med settings about 25+ fps but now i am facing problem with slow opening of things like browsing and loading of windows the problem is not that high but it is noticeably and to make it run for 2-3 more years i have to upgrade a ssd for sure .
