4:19 I think an interesting mechanic for a future break-support would be debuffing the enemy so that when they do inevitably recover from weakness break, they only regain a part of their weakness bar. That way, FF and Boothill can break almost as soon as the enemy gets back up, useful for bosses with very large weaknesses bars.

Is she required? No, I skipped her on her first banner and managed to clear 95% of all content without her regardless. However, I pulled her on her rerun and it feels like I basically unlocked an easy mode difficulty for this game because of how seamless she is. So I don't think she's 100% required for anything, but she makes the simple act of playing the game easier, because she allows every other character to do what they're already doing, but better.

got Mei and her signature light cone on her first run. On re-run, got her C1. Her C1 and light cone are my stopping point. Robin handles the Fua teams, Sparkle handles mono quantum. and Ruan Mei pretty much handles the rest. I feel prepared and with enough support for MoC and PF. 🐱

Actually the game is created so you are not dependent on ANY character, but certain Characters can make your life easier. What character to pull which to skip should never be a "have to" discussion. If you want it, go for it. For me, half the fun is collecting them even tho the team can never carry more than 4

Imma be honest u don’t need her like u need trailblazer she ain’t a must have on firefly’s team but is good in general since she increases the teams speed break effect and break efficiency and sets enemies back a turn if they didn’t die yet she has a lot of utility break characters want on their team but others can use her too unlike trailblazer who just wants to be on a break team and nothing else and can’t buff others besides characters who want break Ps nice video as always Natsan love ur content ❤

I saved almost exclusively for her from 1.3-1.6 and 2.1-2.3 now. managed to get e6s3 and it's way overkill tbh, probably would do better with at least one break dps. (I pulled Acheron in 2.1 with her lc) She deals 30% of a boss's hp bar in a single break, and against the puppet trio, she can basically delete a whole phase if all three of them break. most elites lose between a third and a half of their hp on break, and normal mobs just die.

If you are asking the question in the first place then you want it, don't think, just pull. Amazing advice from a real stellaron hunter. If there is another character that does the same as Ruan Mei then Break teams will just run both and that will be WAY too broken because 50% break efficiency = 50% more superbreak damage.

She's really valuable, Whether you need her or not really depends on how you Perceive her Value as a Support Character & what supports you have in your roster or what are your Archetype preferences. Though she isn't a Minimum Requirement to Play HSR. She's especially strongest if you wanna get into the Break Meta, and she's Versatile in Hypercarry, Dual DPS, FUA, DOT, ATK scaling, non ATK scaling and every single team & Architype. You can put her into a team and the team will do very well (Even if there are better options then her in these teams) But she isn't required, She isn't a minimum Requirement or else don't ever Touch HSR. She is really just a Extremely valuable support with some of the Strongest pull value in the game (Though I wouldn't say Absolute Must Pull). (But I doubt everyone needs her, & there are people out there who still don't like her & thus won't get her)

if you care about pulling economy at all, i'd say ask yourself if you already have 2 main teams. if one of them is a break team, then get ruan mei. if not, just skip. i can build exactly two teams on my acc, and one of them is a break team, so i went ahead and pulled for her. if i already had two teams to clear endgame content before her rerun, i would have skipped her

Did I need her? No. - Did I use my 7 leftover tickets (after getting Firefly) on her banner & shockingly get her? Yes. - Is that why I’m now searching YT for all sorts of content about her? Yes 😅 Am I also doubting how big of a difference I’ll see in my damage numbers by using her? Yes (hopefully I’m wrong & the insane hype around her buffs are actually warranted). Cause people act like she’s some sort of God (lmao which ironically she would love) or like she’s the ultimate game changer in HSR. - Honestly never used my buffers/debuffers; my Pela, Tingyun & Asta (all E6) and my Bronya are all just sitting there under-leveled & unbuilt.

honestly - you will see a difference. i have her e1s1 (though i prefer using memories of the past on her) and she is a very good support for a lot of teams, even at e0 without her signature if you dont feel like going for at least her e1. there’s definitely a very big hype around her and some of it is overblown (like saying she’s a must pull, no one is - even if you want to use firefly, sure shes pretty much her bread and butter but the game wont explode if rm isnt on her team) but her buffs ARE an amazing utility even now that we have sparkle and robin to compare with her, theyre all incredible but have a little something in their kit that makes them shine in certain situations more than others. i say this as someone who has both robin and bronya, i prefer robin’s kit but rm is also fun. her buffs from both her skill and ultimate are really good - a pretty much permanent weakness break boost and an ultimate that basically boosts your damage and keeps your enemies broken for longer and delays is insane and can save you in a lot of situations. so far her ultimate mechanic is unique to her. do test her out in divergent universe, even if the equipment it gives her isnt my favorite she really shows how much she can shine. and give your buffers/debuffers a chance, they’re all very good! pela especially is my favorite to use.

I will probably never pull for her because I have never really liked her. But sure she will make things easier but if you don't like a character you shouldn't pull for that character which I learned the hard way with Robin... So if you go for meta then yes she is a must pull but for me Asta has helped me with clearing everything so she isn't a must pull otherwise and I am happy without her But this is only my opinion btw I am still learning the game

yes people love to overestimate the difference between robin and ruan mei especially in break teams. Robin is obv generally worse in break teams but does it really matter when u can use her and steall easily beat the content? Especially since robin + ruan mei + bronya in a sustainless team can also be a niche thing to 0 cycle. The only thing ruan mei has over robin currenty is that she is more comfy to play and has the sp generation, especially in boothill teams havin ruan mei can be helpful to help stack up boothill (current moc doesent really count cuz trotters r op) but she is defenetly not the must have character everyone make her seem to be. Hot take, robin is basically right there with ruan mei since both perform on the same level in most teams, while robin is better in fua teams and ruan mei is better in break teams. But i think robin has actually more value for the future, since there will and already are more fua characters and different fua teams while break teams always are always kind of the same and can all be countered by the same mechanics. yunli, clara, jade, topaz, aventurine, dr ratio and probably a lot of future characters all work with fua so having a robin that can be put in any one of these teams is more valuable than ruan mei which is mostly going to be with the same type of team, a break team.

i fully cleared moc 12 now with the most random team comps ever. you don’t need a single character in this game ever. you can clear every single moc 12 every month with just random e0 4 stars. it’s all about equipment and strategy just use the buff of the month to your advantage and that’s it. same with all the other endgame content. is ruan mei good yes she is the best character with robin. but do you need her? absolutely not

I do genuinely think that it's she's not at all NEEDED for clearing the hardest content in the game even with an account theoretically SOLELY centered around break characters. Some people would tell you it's cope, but even fully f2p you can easily beat the content without her running Boothill on one side and Firefly on the other for all of MoC and at least the current Apocalyptic Shadow (Pure Fiction not so much) Out of shear spite I tried it and beat MoC 12 using Guinaifen and Pela as a replacement for each team and still cleared with 5 cycles to spare tldr: She's not mandatory because the BE characters are honestly so OP they don't need her massive buffs to clear in record time

idk where this weird Ruan Mei cult came from but a lot of people seem to think that she's BiS for a lot of teams when it's really just DoT and Break. If your account is weaker and only has 1 limited harmony or weak sustains then she's definitely a big help, but ever since I got Robin, Ruan Mei has been on the bench a lot more.

No she is master of everything. Try to change her for someone in a break team, and you will miss her. She not only give res pen, spd, and break, but also increase the break duration. If thats not must pull, then nothing is (obviously pull for what you want, but for meta she IS a must, thats a fact) every break team use her. You can maaaybe replace her for a extreme high investment Asta for FF, but why just not get her? Its muuch more simple

That logic is so flawed. She can be used in every team but can easily be replaced since she isn't best in slot. In hypercarry, sparkle robin bronya and tingyun are usually better. In DoT she's tied to robin. In fuA ruan mei is only second to robin because there isn't any multi buffers yet. Second, what argument are you making mentioning Dot teams saying she’s tied with robin? First off she isn’t tied to robin and dot teams don’t need robin and can just use ruan mei 🤦‍♂️. You also mentioned FUA teams which robin is the best slot for it but saying Ruan Mei is only second to robin proves my point how good she is as I mentioned she can be used in any team which shows how flexible her kit is. If you are talking about a must pull character that’s best in slot for every team then you can say a sustain is always a must pull but when we are specifically talking about characters that buff your units, ruan mei is universally the best option with weakness break delay, breaking enemies way faster, more speed, and more damage. Also your firefly argument, if anything that’s the most flawed argument here considering she is tied with harmony mc for high damage and is not universally good for all teams like Ruan Mei is. @@heiroglyph you can use asta in every team, doesn't mean she's universal. You can use basically any support in every team, but you just have a hard time. The same applies to ruan mei. If she can "be used in every team" then whu can't others? That argument only works if she's the second best option in every team but she's not. She's not the second best in hypercarry. The only team she's second best in is firefly and boothil which are both break characters.
