As sleeper agents, the real hashashins could pretty much do anything - even die as martyrs or terrorize civilians - so long as they're indoctrinated (or intoxicated and literally convinced that what they do is in their best interest and the only path to paradise, salvation, or whatever you wanna call it... it just has to sound desirable). This was how Sabah and his successors maintained loyal combatants, and it was the means they deemed necessary, not to fight Templars, but in reality to challenge the Seljuk Turks and they're allies who at the time controlled Persia. While they were an Ismaili sect, so long as they do the master's bidding, the men in the field really do not give a [ __ ]. But Al-Mualim couldn't fully indoctrinate Altair - he was just too damn cunning and hot-headed.

Let’s be fair, we don’t yet know to what degree the Assassin Order is featured in Valhalla. But let’s not forget that each installment in the franchise has offered up different takes on what the Assassins are about; they weren’t such cut-and-dry good guys in Black Flag and Unity and Rogue showed us that they can be just as dangerous as the Templars.
@umcaraqualquer36403 жыл бұрын
@@Garrus1995 They were never shown as cut-and-dry good characters. Since AC 1, they were literally represented as Islamic extremist spies. They were quite literally slamic templars, LMAO. In Ezio Auditore's saga, he openly bashes the order a lot, and this was very early-on in the franchise.
@Garrus19953 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree here. I never got the vibe they were Islamic spies in AC I; that was just kind of their cover, but really their beliefs were indifferent with regards to faith. Some of the Templar targets had admittedly noble goals even if their methods weren’t the best. And I don’t really recall Ezio bashing the Order all that much in his games; I will admit that based on the Embers short film, he definitely wanted to put his life as an Assassin behind him. It was in 3 where we get to play as Haytham that we saw that the Templars can be truly noble. Before that, the Templars didn’t get much humanizing.

Yo the first assassins creed was such a legend. I remember while I was living in Europe at the time I read up about this new revolutionary assassin came back in 2007. I watched a trailer of Altair slipping into a crowd & assassinating the Templar at the town center where people were protesting. I read the entire magazine blog about the game & then when to sleep under the stars that night looking over the freshly plowed cornfields of Poland. It was good to be a kid. Nostalgia.
