Thank you for bringing back so many great memories! I grew up in NE philly. Kiddy city was right off of bustleton Ave next to the Orleans movie theater. I am 56 years old and I remember it like it was yesterday. Walking in the first thing you saw was the o gauge locomotives under glass on display. Thanks to my parents and the time I was born I was very lucky to experience this awesome time to be a kid! Thanks again!

We had one in Claymont, Delaware. The commercial came to my mind and of course I had to look it up on KZbin. Good memories.😊

I think i was alittle too young to actually be cognizant of which toy stores i preferred when LKC was a thing. But i remember the commercial jingle for it and i remember there being one in NewJersey but i was in Central Pa. And at that age, Jersey seemed like it might have well been MARS!! “I have a hard enough time getting my cheap skate parents to get me an unpopular leftover GI Joe character at KMart, let alone taking a trip outta state to go to LKC.” is what i thought, in my self-entitled brain. I am just glad that this video is uploaded here for however long the internet remains here in however long america remains!! It would seem my memory may outlast all three!!

Syracuse NY. My favorite memories of Kiddie City were buying WWF wrestling figures made by LJN back in the mid 80's. They had the hugest selection! My last memory was buying the British Bulldog's tag team set. Today, if still packaged, those figures go for hundreds, if not, thousands of dollars!

Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate your support and I did a video on Bealls kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5zQo5V-obiGbpY. I took some heat for it since I used some pics from the chain in Florida. The video is about the Bealls in Texas. Why do companies have the same name is beyond me.

I remember the Aramingo Ave store and walking in and seeing a Neo Geo Home console showcasing some of the games on a monitor like magician Lord The store had layaway which was a huge thing especially around the holidays

There was a Lionel Kiddie City on Union Square in NYC when I was seven years old in the late 80's. My Dad and older brother chipped in to get me a Nintendo Gameboy for Christmas. I also remember all the action figures on the 2nd floor, from Dinoriders to GIJoe to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was heaven for a little kid like me at the time.

Just reading the comments was surprised to find out that KC started in Philly a nice little notch to add to my hometown's belt. I got my playmates Enterprise-D from there back in 93. We looked around everywhere but they were the only place that had one. Rather sad they were the first to go as from what I remember they had better stock.

From riding high as being one of the first toy supermarkets to then being one of the largest toy stores in the nation to then file for bankruptcy once and then a second time mixed with the rapid expansion and growing competition i think Lionel should have sold Kiddie City to that investor group who know they could of lasted a bit longer.

The last gasp of the original Lionel Corporation. The Lionel that still makes trains today is a separate company entirely as the original sold off the rights to use the name and the toolings to make the trains to General Mills, then further sales/acquisitions until it became Lionel Trains Inc. then finally Lionel LLC.
