That first round was ridiculously easy. I'm not surprised they got 7 out of 8 of the lowest answers. The problem with knowing pretty much all of the answers in those instances, is the crapshoot of guessing what other people do or don't know. But that's the game I guess.

You can tell Sarah and Noël are regular viewers of Pointless because Wilander and Vicario are almost always pointless answers in these tennis rounds and theyve made a conscious effort to remember those names in case a tennis round comes up, despite not being tennis fans. Well played.

that's not an umlaut, Alexander, it's a diaeresis. An umlaut changes the sound of the letter (eg o and ö being different vowel sounds), whereas a diaeresis is just there to indicate that the two vowels are to be pronounced as separate syllables rather than as a diphthong (eg No-el vs Nowl)
