More and more voices among high officials in EU got manipulated by Russia and their own naivety that Baltics countries are just barking at Russia because of their past grudges (like Russian genocides against those countries with citizens' deportations to Siberia and persistent attempts to delete their national identity and russify the region for a long time) and acting very indecisively when it comes to Crimea, Donbass and other conflict as well as being very hesitant with making steps of stopping the EU energy dependence on Russia which directly finances Russia's aggressive military and foreign politics.

While I was just a baby when the USSR collapsed, it's amazing to hear how these people frame it. As a child, I remember my father (a US Naval officer) teaching me about the Cold War and how it developed. He (and everyone else) was very happy FOR the Russian people and was even excited to be able to visit Russia and combine the technology and progress both sides had created. Now the propagandists say we "occupied" Russia during the 1990s. Huh? At least where I grew up in the US, everyone I knew was rooting for Russia to succeed, but they went backward instead of forward.
@VeryFamousActor

There is some truth in that. Bill Clinton's administration, along with the world bank and some other organizations, directly influenced Russian politics with Yeltsin. The largest factor in why Russia suffered so greatly in the 90's was due to "shock therapy" of the entire economy. Which also is what led to Russia becoming an oligarch mafia state.

The war itself doesn't bother me... wars are routine for us... But rather this whole nationalistic thing. People wrapped in blue-and-yellow flags, shouting "slava ukraini", saying they are "proud to be ukrainian", wearing t-shirts "proudly ukrainian", national costumes, national anthem, banners on every website "support ukraine now", public statements from some random people... Okay, I get it! I know how your flag looks like... Being proud to be Ukrainian is like being proud to be right-handed. Russians have the super-unique property of breaking even the sharpest teeth. The Americans have gone crazy and meddled where they shouldn't have. Russia will definitely put them in their place. It is one thing to support and supply arms to terrorists in Africa and the Arab countries of the Third World, but it is another thing to bombard Russian people. This situation cannot have a happy ending. A Pandora's box has already been opened. There are intelligent educated people in America. A little bit. But in general people are very stupid and ignorant. 30% of Americans can't show their own country on a world map. Judging by the comments, it is very clear that almost all Westerners do not know and do not understand the true cause of the conflict. So much for the independent Western media. It turns out that there are only lies and fierce propaganda. And then there's the censorship. After all, they closed all the Russian media so that the truth could not get through. Unfortunately, the U.S. is repeating the worst monstrous mistakes of the Soviet Union. This is circumstantial evidence of the imminent collapse of the US.
