Generation 1 was a wild experience. Janky mechanics, broken Pokemon, absolutely brutal and unforgiving effects. It really felt different, and I love it for that. That’s not to say the later generations are bad, they have a ton of good qualities about them, but nothing will rival to sheer jank of Red, Blue, yellow, and stadium. Also great video overall, I forgot you were a pokemon fan, or at least a gen 1 through presumably 4 fan. It would be nice to see this type of content in the future, it’s a good vibe. 19:33 also if your wondering why Zapdos outsped, it’s because mew only has 100 speed. Zapdos naturally has way more.

Yeah, if you used it in the handheld games, your crit rate would either stay the same or if you were slower than the enemy, it'd be lowered as you stated. Stadium fixed this as well as making it so Hyper Beam has to recharge no matter what.

Growing up like an only child with this game, this was SUCH a throwback! I especially love coming back and seeing just HOW animated the Pokémon and move effects are, it actually makes it feel more like a battle. I don’t remember my exact first team, but I do remember the team I had when I tried to make a full team in Fire Red. Blastoise, Fearow (switched to Articuno later on), Raichu, Graveller, Hitmonchan and Raticate. While I don’t remember the movesets off by heart, I do know that I evolved Pikachu too early as I never had Thunderbolt on him, meaning it was likely lv25 when I got it.

The crazy thing about this is if you have a ROM or save dumper, you can take that save, set it as the save for the VC version of Pokemon Blue on a softmodded 3DS, then use Poke Transfer to move the Pokemon to Bank, then from Bank to Home, and have Pokemon you caught as a child from Gen 1 in modern games (if the Pokemon are in said modern game). You could also do this with Gen 2, but those things have worse battery issues than Gen 1 did.

I do remember my original team from back on my Red version. It was Venasaur, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, Dragonite, and I believe Lapras. I enjoy the original Pokemon game, but my overall favorite was, and still is, Gold and Silver. As a kid, with limited free time, I had managed to clock in several hundred hours on those games. I played them as much as I could and were a huge part of my childhood gaming. HG/SS were amazingly faithful remasters that not only did a fantastic job updating the game, but adding more to it that made it fun and enjoyable. A remaster done RIGHT. As for the quality of this video, I honestly thought it was fine. If anything it's way more cool that you used the old school system for the major nostalgia factor.

Pokemon Stadium. Such good times. Everything about this game is just so awesome. I remember getting it when I turned 14 years old and yes, the first game lets you use Pokemon Red, Blue & Yellow via Transfer Pak. The Prime Cup though... jeez. No restrictions here. Although if you brought Mewtwo, he is that busted. Also Special stat was busted and that made Psychic Pokemon that much more powerful. It wasn't until Gen 2 where they split the stat down the middle. Honestly it worked out. My Poke Cup team I used was in Yellow: Pikachu, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Nidoking & Fearow. I like variety in my teams. Hope you do Stadium 2 though. That's when the real fun starts. Plus having the announcer that was the narrator in the Pokemon anime is just perfection.

Yooooo! This is a cool video! I remember playing on stadium as a kid at my grandma's house, but I didn't have a blue cartridge. So I had to go with the random pokemon. I'm glad to see someone talk about one of my childhood games.

Honestly Brent. This is Nostalgia in a cartridge. Never had a little transfer so used rentals. But had the game when I was a kid. This'll be interesting to see you play with the other Party Crashers.

First team I think it consisted of poliwrath butterfree, dugtrio, lapras, alakazam, and charizard. I loved this game! Seeing this just memory locks everything I loved about this game. I didn’t own a game boy back then so I had to use the rental Pokemon and it was rough yet I beat all the cups. It would be so cool if you did more of this stuff
