Do you start with facts or ideas?

I don't know how hard those pegs are driven at my home 😂 Despite being a very rigorous Trivvium homeschool, my kids readily grasp on to facts and use them as a launching point for their ideas. Having learned a lot about Roman Emperors this week we had a discussion at dinner on if pets would make a good consul or not led by the 5 & 6 yesr olds. ❤ I do not find them contradictory but instead do them side by side with certain subjects leaning more one way than the other depending on the inclinations of that child and myself. But perhaps that is a benefit of being a more blended grammatical and dialectic age and maturity range. We focus on learning the facts, but the ideas about those facts are what help cement them into place.
