UK police should be armed but with Hand Guns like Glock 43 Pistols with an extra magazine that's it. How a Police officer is supposed to protect Civilians against a gang of Criminals when he can't protect himself?? Its not just possible for a single police officer to take on a bunch of Criminal forget about Terrorists.

id choose a Glock 17 you need a proper grip Glock 43 is a sub compact I feel you will need a full size pistol to apply correct pistol shooting fundamentals plus you have more rounds in the magazine carry and extra 2 mags as well

British police should be armed, yes. They shouldn't compare them to the police in the US. It's a ridiculous comparison, the police in Europe carry guns, why not us?! It doesn't initiate gun crime at all. I don't feel safe in London, out any other UK City at all. But when I've been to Europe I've felt safe arrive armed police. And there is NOTHING wrong with the second amendment. At least in the USA you can speak freely and defend yourself lawfully.

Why is the immediate comparison between arming British police made to how US officers behave? They're a totally different breed, totally different history and totally different training. Why do we never look at European officers? It's ridiculous. I'm not saying yes or no as to being armed, but America is such a preposterously extreme example of gun-toting, questions-later scenarios that simply rarely exist in the UK mindset.

With the exception of terrorists, different topic. Any balloon head with any weapon once caught, no ale , no bail, jail. A swift mandatory twenty years would soon stop the problem, and another side effect they wouldn't be out there committing crime . I think all police should have glocks. In every city. no matter the size Also tazers. But for small towns every unit should at least have tazers.

There’s literally no correlation between having an armed police force and violent crimes, countries like France don’t deal with terrorism or gun crime more effectively than the British police despite being armed to the teeth

I for one, would feel much safer knowing police are armed. I have no reason to fear them or even ask for directions like this guy so strangely said. I'm no criminal so why would I? I'm also a young black man so there you go for the black woman's point lol If officers don't feel comfortable with guns, fine make it optional. The ones who can handle it will use them, and the rest can continue as normal. Sorted

There has been peace in Northern Ireland for 20 years yet the police are still armed, why is that still allowed. All police should at least have tasers, if the worry is the new terror risk then there are methods available, such as putting elite military units on the streets. They are highly trained and skilled at shooting guns and also in dealing with terrorism

Because those terrorist groups have not gone away and armed policing is the future.Why disarm an entire police force who have all that training, knowledge and experience of being armed.They are like that for a reason.Be realistic and practical.

I have massive respect for police but people get power hungry it doesn’t make things better ask people all over who have gunned police abuse it all the time. 2 police officers showed up on seen for a guy filming they had guns it make us mad and scared🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑
