Personally I love the 2x4HD and what it did for my two PB2000 subs. I followed some videos and it was easy enough.

I agree with Joe's point about being careful about too much DSP. First there's the AVR's room correction, then the DSP in the sub, and if you add MiniDSP that's three D/A conversions. That could reduce dynamic range and increase the noise floor. I agree with the sentiment that it should be the last resort if you can't get good bass with the AVR/Processor and the sub's built in DSP.

You can have audyssey for all your speakers and turn it off just for your subwoofers. You can just leave the EQ of your sub, and use just the EQ correction from your minidsp.

My miniDSP does in 2ch system: 1. Low pass filter for the subwoofers 48 db/och 2. High pass for the mains .. 3. Level match subwoofer and mains 4. Flatten the frequency response PEQ 5. Adding 4 different presets shelfs from +6bB to 16dB @20hz 6. Time alignment subwoofer and mains 7. Low pass @17hz acting as a rumble filter for the TT ..

My problem is they changed the dashboard and watched a video trying to explain and not sure I get it.
