This video did a wonderful job illustrating how to know whether someone is consenting to a 'cup of tea’ (sex) or not. The Tea and Consent video talks from the point of view of the initiator - the person who already knows they want tea. But there is one important thing to consider if you are the person giving consent.
That is - do you really want tea?

As a 15 year old I didn’t know that if I said yes to tea with someone that I could change my mind half way through. Crazy right? But no-one ever told me! These are some of the things I wish I had known when I was 15. As a teacher I'm well aware today's young people are much more savvy than I was in the 90's ;) but if it helps one person then I'm happy. What advice would you give?

The elite girl's college where I had worked at, just offered an unreserved apology to ex-students after they told that 2 teachers had walked into the change rooms when girls were changing. This was said to have happened over 2 decades earlier in the 1990s. But an unrelated event made the issue of consent relevant. A number of staff shook their head in disbelief to hear how the principal had, unexpectedly and for unknown reason, lifted up her dress to flash her undies to a group of both male and female staff. Did she think it was funny? or sexy? A lady was asked about that event, and she said she was present, and it actually did happen. So, it seems consent is required to look at undies. But consent is not required to flash undies. I just made a youtube video about that. If anyone wished to see, just click the red d at the start of this comment.

Real relationship are not made just of self-pleasure and just doing what it is wanted, but also of self- sufference and sense of duty for the good of the other, independently by your genre, sex orientation, age, and type of relationship (love, friendship, mates, etc....) and by what you want to do (work projects, tea, sex, make some sports, etc...).

Yes! And if we are taught to express what we want or don't want...rather than not say because, for example, we have learned to be people pleasers...then the better experience for everyone involved!

Yes! Exactly - it was inspired by the other video (it's in the description) but this video shows the other person's side and what they might consider (the person giving consent) Because sometimes they might think they have to give consent when they don't really want to. The other video is helpful for people who want to know how to offer tea and how to look for signs that someone doesn't want tea. This video is helpful for people who want to know how to respond when someone offers them tea and they don't want it. Learning how to say no, how to set boundaries, and that it's okay to do both is just as valuable as learning how to ask for permission, respect someone's answer, and leave their body alone.
