After you put the paint on the gel plate, how long do you wait before you put your picture on the plate for the transformation to happen? I’m having a problem with the picture transferring on the jail plate and then using copy paper to lift the image. What am I doing wrong, thank you

It will most likely be your print copy, is it a good quality laser copy print? I have found using a colour print works better for me, cheers

Froyle, is the fotocopy done on a slightly slick paper? It doesn't look like regular copy paper here. Wondering if a slightly glossy copy psper helps release the láser toner better?

It’s a standard colour laser print from Warehouse Stationary 👍🏼 I have found this to work the best! 😘 cheers!

OK I tried Gelli printing for the first time and the ink from the laser print didn’t transfer - it’s not the fault of the technique in the video though ! - I read somewhere if this happens then make black and white (or color of course) laser prints with the color setting on, not black and white setting, on the laser copy machine. The reason is the color setting lays down more ink. Has anyone else had to do that ? Bummer 😂. At least there’s a fix for it though.

I think it has to do with the toner. If you are using your own laser printer then try running the print through twice to build up the toner. I always get my prints from an office shop. Colour laser prints always works best for me, Cheers!

@@FroyleArt Yes I get mine from an office store too. It does seem strange they didn’t work but I’ll try that color setting for black and white photos and hopefully that will solve it.

@@sarahofarrell222. Any office store that has laser printers and you don’t order them or at least I don’t. You stand at the machine and make the copies. Employees will help you learn to run the machine. I wrote down their directions while they explained it so I’d be more independent the next time I was there.

The image most be from a glossy magazine & be high contrast. The black ink should be dry. The white topcoat lifts the dry black. As cool as this can be, it seems like a waste of a lot of black paint.

Your print copy is the most important part. Good quality, high contrast, colour laser copy, strong toner from a copy shop! 👍🏼 cheers
