I've been giving the Redmond with selenium salt for many years to our animals. We now have just sheep now. I added the garlic salt last year and it made a huge difference with the flies. They were so happy. In the Fall I saw they had salt specifically for sheep and have added it to our regime. Love their products. Very happy with the results.

My vet suggested minerals for my cats about five years ago. I wonder if all mammals need the minerals?

On the topic of animals and salt, and how we all have realized now that what we "learned" in school since the 40's have been lies regarding nutrition...have you ever noticed if your farm/working dogs use the salt you put out for your livestock?

When our animals are receiving the minerals they need, is that passing through to the manure we use in our compost and into gardens and pasture to help improve the mineral content over time in the soil itself?

Wow, perfect timing! I am getting low on our food grade salt and getting 2 baby calves this afternoon to start our next round of beef for our freezers. I haven't done this in the past but should I be offering baby calves loose minerals and salt?

Yes, my 3 month old calf that will be beef has been eating the minerals. He goes over to it on his own, so he's not just doing what the other cattle do. He needs it.

Do you think over time (years) the amount of minerals needed will go down? If you do proper grazing and are putting back into the soil will the minerals that the animals eat go into their waste then add those minerals to the soil? So maybe your grandkids won't need as much as you need to feed.

My goats are eating cedar bark. Any idea what that would indicate?

Pre Evlampsia and Eclampsia as well as tettony are Mg Deficiencies. Thyroid fir us as them needs both iodine and selenium. I use Topical Mg on my dog when her muscles seem still.

@@RC-mn1ri it is a highly concentrated magnesium with water that due to the hig concentration feels slippery- Lije sea water. I part the fur and get it as close to the skin as possible. I usually dilute. It first and havechercspecial.bottle. shes 18 now. She does not jump at squirrels or run at breakneck speeds anymore but it still helps her. I use Ancient Minerals Mg Oil Spray. In me, my clients, and my dog, repairmen plumbers etc who come here get some on theirbmuscle pain areas. Read The Magnesium Miracle or The Magnesium Factor to understand the importance of this mineral. I like the Mg Miracle because firbhumans, the Dr Author suggests adfitional supplements for carious health complications.

No. There are some affiliates in Canada that import and sell Redmonds. I believe you can source them through Redmond's online.

Not yet...we're developing something now that the birds can eat and will be fortified with our minerals.

I feed Redmond Minerals to my pigs every day... Redmond is a complex chloride and has 60+ minerals...so it's not straight NaCl...much safer and much better.
