I envy you for still having steady hands. I’d be all over the place with the soldering.

Nice job with the Weller soldering gun Ray. I have one just like it that I inherited from my father, the thing must weigh 5 pounds. I still remember being with him when he bought it in the late 60's.

Yup, love my Fluke meter. I also got one of those cheap chinese clamp meters to keep in the RV. Keep up the good work! Brian

I like those screws on your Weller

Thank you so much for sharing! I got one of these for cheap, but it turned out mine also didn't work. By bridging the battery compartment to the springs it came to life, so I stretched the springs until they were long enough to make contact. It works now! If I run into any more trouble I'll permanently wire it like you did. Thanks again for sharing!!

Ray, I wish I just had a little of your knowledge. You and Az. repair should put your heads together, James is also great at electrical repair. Good job.

Use ZincChloride flux for nickel, just wash it off with alcohol from iron and contacts afterwards. Its very widespread as a paste in copper pipe gas soldering. Works the same way for retinning the burned solder tips.

I never doubted you. On a totally unrelated topic, I just watched your video about how you organize your truck bed. Do you know the brand of the box you carry your generator in? Any problem with rain getting in?
@LoveYourRV2 жыл бұрын
Yes, company called Contico makes them amzn.to/3tBJA5C Never have had any leaks. The lid overlaps the sides. I mostly went with it as it fit perfectly where I wanted it behind the hitch.
@m3cog2 жыл бұрын
@@LoveYourRV That is where I am hoping to put ours.. although our hitch has a larger footprint than yours so we'll see. Thanks so much for the info.
@m3cog2 жыл бұрын
@@LoveYourRV Hey Ray - Did you put some wood spacers below the box to elevate it above the hitch levers?
@LoveYourRV2 жыл бұрын
@@m3cog No, I cut slots near the bottom of the box at each front corner so the front fits between the hitch. I keep my tarps on the box bottom. I can take a picture if you'd like.
@m3cog2 жыл бұрын
@@LoveYourRV Did not cross my mind to do that. Whenever you have a chance a picture would be awesome! Thanks for the quick reply too.

Do you think the problem was just particular to THAT unit or did the Company have the same problem with many of them that were assembled that way?
@LoveYourRV2 жыл бұрын
Not sure, I've never heard of the company before. Seems to get decent rating on Amazon though so can't be that many failing. 4.6 out of 5 6,920 global ratings
